A display device and a display method are provided. The display device includes a plurality of repeat units and an optical layer. Each of the repeat units includes a plurality of display elements displaying a same object with different parallaxes. At least two of the display elements displaying the same object with the closest parallax are not connected with each other. The optical layer is disposed on the repeat units. The optical layer having a plurality of light transmission areas and a light non-transmission area around the light transmission areas. Each of the repeat units overlaps with two or more light transmission areas.

Display device and display method

The present invention provides a display, including a first display device, a second display device, a half mirror and a bifocal lens. The first display device provides a first image light, and the second display device provides a second image light. The half mirror has a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other, and is spaced apart from the first display device and the second display device by a first distance and a second distance respectively, where the first distance is not equal to the second distance. The first image light is emitted to the first surface, and the second image light is emitted to the second surface. The bifocal lens is spaced apart from the half mirror by a third distance and faces the first surface. The bifocal lens has a first focal length and a second focal length different from each other. The first focal length is greater than a sum of the first distance and the third distance, and the second focal length is greater than a sum of the second distance and the third distance.

Display

A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus includes a display panel, a lens assembly, and a polarization converting unit. The lens assembly includes a first lens layer and a second lens layer. The first lens layer includes a plurality of first lenses. The second lens layer includes a plurality of second lenses. The second lenses are respectively aligned with the first lenses. The polarization converting unit is located between the display panel and the lens assembly. A displaying method is also provided.

A first display zone and a second display zone are displayed based on a first light source group, which corresponds to a first voltage data signal; and then the second display zone and a third display zone are displayed based on light for a second light source group, which corresponding to a second voltage data signal. The first light source group and the second light source group illuminate the display zones alternatively. Each display zone is fed with either a first data voltage signal or a second data voltage signal. While the first data voltage signal is updating each display zone in sequence, the second data voltage signal starts updating the first display zone when the first voltage signal is updating the third display zone.

Stereoscopic display device and method for driving a stereoscopic display that updates a plurality of display zones

A stereoscopic display is proposed. A first display zone and a second display zone are displayed based on light for a first light source group, in response to a first data voltage signal fed to the first display zone and the second display zone, and to a second data voltage signal fed to a third display zone. The second display zone and the third display zone are displayed based on light for a second light source group, in response to the second data voltage signal fed to the first display zone, and to the first data voltage signal fed to the second display zone and the third display zone. The first display zone and the second display zone are displayed based on light from the first light source group, in response to the second data voltage signal fed to the first display zone and the second display zone, and to the first data voltage signal fed to the third display zone. The second display zone and the third display zone are displayed based on light from the second light source group, in response to the first data voltage signal fed to the first display zone, and to the second data voltage signal fed to the second display zone and the third display zone.

Stereoscopic display

An autostereoscopic display apparatus includes a spatial light modulator in which alignment features such as bump features provide radially symmetric alignment of the molecules of the liquid crystal. A parallax element is arranged over the spatial light modulator to direct light from the pixels into different viewing windows. The apertures of the pixels are shaped such that, for each individual row of pixels, a notional line parallel to the geometric axes of the parallax elements has a total length of intersection with the pixels of the row, weighted for the intensity of light modulated by the alignment features, which is the same for all positions of the notional line. This improves angular intensity uniformity. The pixels may each include plural apertures, wherein the alignment features of the apertures of each individual pixel are offset from one another in a direction perpendicular to said geometric axes. This improves angular contrast uniformity.

Autostereoscopic display apparatus

A three-dimensional display includes a display panel having a plurality of first pixels arranged in the odd row, and a plurality of second pixels arranged in the even row. Each first pixel has a first and a second transparent regions and a first semiconductor pattern. Each second pixel has a third and a fourth transparent regions and a second semiconductor pattern. In any two adjacent first and second pixels, the first and the third transparent regions are mirror images of each other, and the second and the fourth transparent regions are mirror images of each other. In the adjacent first and second pixels arranged in any two rows, the loss of the light transmittance at any position along the row direction due to overlapping of the first semiconductor and the first transparent region and overlapping of the second semiconductor and the fourth transparent region remains unchanged.
