An external storage device includes a memory, a controller, a first interface, a second interface, a first switching module, and a second switching module. The controller is coupled to the memory. The first interface is used to connect to a first electronic device. The second interface used to connect to a second electronic device. The first switching module is coupled to the controller, the first interface, and the second interface. The second switching module is coupled to the controller, the first interface, the second interface, and the first switching module. When the first interface is electrically connected to a first electronic device and the second interface is electrically connected to the second electronic device, the first electronic device charges the controller and the second electronic device through the first switching module, and the first electronic device accesses the memory through the second switching module and the controller.

External storage device with two interfaces

A storage device and memory accessing method configure two separate memory units, each with dedicated I/O channel, accessible by two controllers, each corresponding to an interface connected to a host, and allows the storage device to establish at least two connections to the different hosts. As more than one connection is established between the storage device and the hosts at the same time, a first controller has both read and write accessibility to a first memory unit and a second controller has both read and write accessibility to a second memory unit, while the first controller has read-only accessibility to the second memory unit and the second controller has read-only accessibility to the second memory unit.

Storage device and memory accessing method for a storage device

An on-line client service method for a storage apparatus includes establishing a link between a client host and the storage apparatus for detecting the current status of the storage apparatus, the client host generating a diagnostic result of the storage apparatus, the client host transmitting the diagnostic result to a far-end server, the far-end server determining whether the storage apparatus functions abnormally according to the diagnostic result. If the storage apparatus functions abnormally, the client host reloads a firmware provided by the far-end server to the storage apparatus, and determines whether the storage apparatus functions abnormally after the storage apparatus is reloaded with the firmware.
