A vertical cellular drape configured for use as a covering for an architectural structure may include a front drape panel and a rear drape panel. The front and rear drape panels may be coupled to each other so that the drape panels are configured to be moved laterally between an extended position and a retracted position to cover or expose an adjacent architectural structure, as desired. In addition, the drape panels may be configured to be positioned relative to each other such that a plurality of vertically oriented, internal cells are defined between the drape panels.

Vertical cellular drape for an architectural structure

A drape has a longitudinal pocket on two or both sides of the drape, A stabilizer is placed within the pocket and extends the length of the pocket. The stabilizer is supported by a drapery support such as a rod or track in a manner which enables the panel to move along the drapery support from a closed, drawn position to an open, slacked position. The stabilizer is supported by the drapery support and is free to move within the pocket. The stabilizer prevents the drape from flaring at the bottom. A wand may be attached to the stabilizer or to a carrier or other assembly to which the stabilizer is attached.

In a cellular material a first panel having a series of lengthwise accordion folds across the width of the panel, alternate folds projecting toward the front of the panel and the back of the panel is attached to a second panel of material in a manner to create a series of P-shaped cells having a back, an upper cell wall and a lower cell wall in which the upper cell wall and the lower cell wall are curved in a same direction.

Window covering

In a method for making roller shades a stack of pleated material is cut so that the length of the stack corresponds to the width of the roller shade being made. Then the edge of the material is attached to a roller so that the plurality of pleats are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the roller. Preferably the stack of pleated material has been made from strips bonded together to form tabs where the edges of adjacent fabric segments are joined together. Preferably the tabs in the panel of pleated material will be along one edge of the stack and the pleats will be along the opposite edge of the stack.

Method for making roller shades

A drape has a longitudinal pocket on one or both sides of the drape. A stabilizer is placed within the pocket and extends the length of the pocket. The stabilizer is supported by a drapery support such as a rod or track in a manner which enables the panel to move along the drapery support from a closed, drawn position to an open, stacked position. The stabilizer is supported by the drapery support and is free to move within the pocket. The stabilizer prevents the drape from flaring at the bottom. A wand may be attached to the stabilizer or to a carrier or other assembly to which the stabilizer is attached.

Cellular and blind shade assembly

A cordless blind contains a lift mechanism, such as one or more spring motors, one or more cord collectors and a lock mechanism. An operator device such as a cord or wand is connected to the lift mechanism and is movable relative to the bottomrail. When the bottomrail is a selected distance from the headrail a portion of the cord or wand will move away from the bottomrail. The selected distance corresponds to the height of the bottomrail at which it is difficult for an operator to reach the bottomrail. The released cord or wand will enable the user to operate a lock mechanism in the bottomrail or move the bottomrail.

Cellular shade

A cord lock for window coverings has one or more cams adjacent a locking surface over which a one or more lift cords travel. The cams may be spring biased to a locked position in which they press the lift cords against the surface. A release member through which the lift cords pass is provided. Transverse movement of any cord passing through an opening in the release member moves the release member from a first position, in which the cam or cams are in the locked position, to a second position at which a cam engaging portion of the release member engages the cam and the cam is in the unlocked position. Movement of the release member from the first position to the second position maintains the cam in the unlocked position.

Child safe cord lock

An expandable and contractable shade assembly includes a plurality of closed cell structures aligned vertically one above another with juncture lines defined between adjacent structures. A lift system is configured for vertically drawing the closed cell structures from the fully expanded configuration into a fully contracted configuration, and includes a plurality of lift cords that are attached to back faces of the closed cell structures and lie along a vertical line of action rearward of the closed cell structures. In the fully contracted configuration of the shade assembly, the closed cell structures collapse into a flat profile and hang from the lift cords in a vertical and adjacently disposed orientation whereby upper edges of the collapsed closed cell structures are adjacent and oriented in an upward vertical direction, and bottom edges of the collapsed closed cell structures are adjacent and oriented in a downward vertical direction.

Expandable and contractable window covering

A tabbed honeycomb structure or pleated panel is made from a stack of collapsed multi-cellular material. The stack is split at bond lines thereby forming the panels of pleated or honeycomb material having a joint tab on one face.
