A device and method for displaying security information to a user is provided. The present invention may include a security device configured to display a security information on a display surface. The security information may include at least one component having two images based on a splitting of its representation that are viewable from corresponding angles of view. The images may be fused into the representation of the at least one component by a visual system of the user looking at them at a reading distance causing the eyes of the user to look at the images from the corresponding angles of view. A corresponding method for displaying security information to a user is also provided.

Display of security information based on splitting into images viewable at a certain reading distance

A solution is proposed for controlling access to computing resources. A corresponding method comprises receiving and verifying an access request for accessing the computing resources by a secondary computing environment (isolated from the computing resources). A main computing environment (isolated from the secondary computing environment) detects an indication of a positive result of the verification of the access request; in response thereto, the main computing environment verifies an integrity condition of the secondary computing environment and then authorizes the secondary computing environment to access the computing resources accordingly. A computer program and a computer program product for performing the method are also proposed. Moreover, a system for implementing the method is proposed.

Control of access to computing resources implemented in isolated environments

A solution is proposed for performing authentications. A corresponding method comprises storing a verification string corresponding to applying a one-way function iteratively starting from a secret string. An authentication request is received in association with an authentication string (or more) being generated by applying the one-way function iteratively starting from the secret string for a lower number of times. A result of the authentication request is determined by comparing the verification string with a comparison string being generated by applying the one-way function to the authentication string (or a few times iteratively). Corresponding computer programs and a computer program products for performing the method are also proposed. Moreover, corresponding systems for implementing the method are proposed.

Authentication based on chain of strings generated from secret string

Managing markup documents having a definition conforming to a pre-defined specification by retrieving the definition of a content markup document, the definition including a set of one or more content portions enclosed within a content element of semantically neutral type having a content identifier, retrieving the definition of a layout markup document, the definition including a set of layout elements of semantically neutral type each one having a layout identifier, and generating the definition of a combined markup document from the definition of the layout markup document and the definition of the at least one content markup page, where generating the definition of a combined markup document includes inserting the content portion enclosed within each content element of the content markup document into the definition of the layout markup document in correspondence of each layout element with the layout identifier matching the content identifier of the content element.

Generation of combined documents from content and layout documents based on semantically neutral elements

A method, system, and computer usable program product for avoiding redundant printing are provided in the illustrative embodiments. An application executing in a data processing system receives a request to print a document. A determination is made whether a valid shared print of the document is available, the valid shared print being a hard-copy of the document that is currently within a validity period and is available for sharing among multiple entities. The shared valid print is requested from a current owner of the shared valid print. If the request is successful, possession of the shared valid print is changed in a prints repository from the current owner to a new owner and a new printing of the document according to the request to print the document is suspended.

Avoiding redundant printing

Mechanisms for enforcing reproduction rights for hard copies of physical hard copy articles are provided. The mechanisms electronically scan a surface of the physical hard copy article using a scanning mechanism to generate scanned data. A reproduction control identifier is extracted from the scanned data and output of a copy of the article is controlled based on the reproduction control identifier that was extracted from the scanned data. The physical hard copy article has a plurality of reproduction control identifiers present in multiple locations on the surface of the physical hard copy article such that content of portions of the physical hard copy article provided on the surface cannot be electronically scanned by the scanning mechanism without detecting a reproduction control identifier.
