Wearable neuromodulator devices. The devices may include a first electrode and a second electrode on a flexible substrate. A first hydrogel layer may be in electrical communication with the first electrode and a second hydrogel layer may be in electrical communication with the second electrode. A third hydrogel layer may be in electrical communication with the first hydrogel layer. The first hydrogel layer may be separated from the third hydrogel layer by a removable release layer. A circuit interrupt may be removably coupled with control circuitry. The circuit interrupt may be interposed between a battery and the control circuitry so that removing the circuit interrupt powers the control circuitry. The control circuitry may be configured to deliver a first predefined waveform between the first and second electrodes after the circuit interrupt is removed, and a second predefined waveform between the first and second electrodes after the release layer is removed.

Wearable neuromodulator devices

Limited-number-of-use neuromodulator apparatuses that may be comfortably worn on the skin of a user to non-invasively apply transdermal electrical stimulation (TES). The apparatuses described herein may be include a flexible/bendable substrate and an elastomeric cover (e.g., formed of an elastomeric fabric). These apparatuses may be simplified, to run autonomously. These apparatuses may also include improved power management features.

Streamlined and pre-set neuromodulators

Methods and apparatuses for transdermal electrical stimulation. Described herein are single-use or limited-use TES apparatuses and methods of using them that include an integrated (e.g., flex-circuit) electrode assembly and controller apparatus including a waveform generator and power supply. Also described herein are TES apparatuses including a cord or wire having current control circuitry and configured to connect a mobile computing device (e.g., smartphone or wearable electronics) to an electrode assembly. Finally, also described herein are intermediate apparatuses including a flex-circuit electrode assembly including a waveform generator but receiving power from a cable connected to a mobile computing device.

Methods and apparatuses for transdermal electrical stimulation

Apparatuses (e.g., devices, systems), and methods for transdermal electrical stimulation (TES). Apparatuses described herein can be self-contained, lightweight, and wearable. The apparatuses and methods described herein be configured to apply an ensemble current waveform between the two or more electrodes, wherein the ensemble current waveform comprises a series of component waveforms that are sequentially applied, and wherein each component waveform is different from a component waveform immediately before it and wherein transitions between the component waveforms temporally correlates with transitions in the sensory experience. Apparatuses and methods for neuromodulation

Neurostimulators for application of transdermal electrical stimulation (TES) and methods of using them for comfortably inducing a cognitive effect. The apparatuses described herein may include hardware, software and/or firmware components that are configured to safely and effectively apply high current intensity (e.g., using a high voltage source). These apparatuses may also include circuitry configured to deliver complex (e.g., ensemble) TES current waveforms that incorporate capacitive discharge current at selected portions of the delivered waveform to enhance user comfort. Methods of operating these devices to reduce capacitance buildup on the user's skin by delivering integrated capacitive discharging currents are also included.

Methods and apparatuses for controlling a wearable neurostimulator from a control apparatus. Described herein are methods and apparatuses for controlling the application of ensemble waveforms using a transdermal electrical stimulation by a neurostimulator having a processor. The controller may provide specifically configured commands to efficiently and accurately control the delivery of an ensemble waveform by the neurostimulator, wherein the ensemble waveform includes a sequence of component biphasic current waveforms in which one or more parameters (such as frequency, current amplitude, percent duty cycle, and percent charge imbalance) vary between sequential component waveforms particularly effective at evoking a desired cognitive state by TES.

Methods and apparatuses for control of a wearable transdermal neurostimulator to apply ensemble waveforms

Methods for attaching a wearable neurostimulator to a user's head (or head and neck) using a cantilever electrode apparatuses for neuromodulation. In practice an electrode assembly may mate with the wearable neuromodulation devices so that the device is worn over one portion of the electrode assembly while the rest of the electrode assembly attaches to another portion of the body. The neuromodulator may be worn on a portion of the electrode assembly in a cantilevered manner (e.g., held at one end while the opposite end is free-floating), which allows the rigid neuromodulation device to conform to a variety of user head sizes and shapes.

Methods for attaching and wearing a neurostimulator

Portable transdermal electrical stimulation (TES) applicators for modifying a subject's cognitive state. In general, the portable applicators described are specifically configured and adapted to be lightweight and may be wearable, and to deliver a high-intensity TES able to evoke or enhance a predetermined cognitive effect. These TES applicators may include a pair of electrodes and a TES control module comprising a processor, a timer and a waveform generator. TES control module is adapted to deliver a biphasic electrical stimulation signal of 10 seconds or longer between the first and second electrodes having a frequency of 400 Hz or greater, a duty cycle of greater than 10 percent, an intensity of 3 mA or greater, with a DC offset.

Transdermal electrical stimulation devices for modifying or inducing cognitive state

Methods of modifying a subject's cognitive state by applying transdermal electrical stimulation (TES). In particular, described herein are methods of applying TES using a pair of electrodes each positioned at a particular location on the skin of the subject's head, or the head and neck, to evoke a predetermined cognitive state using a TES applicator. In particular, described herein are methods of enhancing attention, alertness, or mental focus or of enhancing a calm or relaxed mental state by applying high-intensity TES across electrodes positioned on the subject's temple and either the mastoid region or on the subject's neck. The subject may control the application directly and TES may be applied by a portable, including wearable, TES applicator.

Transdermal electrical stimulation methods for modifying or inducing cognitive state

Described herein are devices, systems, and methods for transdermal electrical stimulation. Devices described herein can include self-contained, lightweight, and wearable components. The devices include a primary unit including a first transdermal electrode and a secondary unit including a second transdermal electrode. The device can be capable of wireless communication. The primary unit and secondary unit are placed at two locations on the skin of a user, for example on the head or neck of a user. The first and second transdermal electrodes are electrically connected. Electrical stimulation is driven between the two electrodes. The electrical stimulation induces a cognitive effect in a user of the device.
