First resources of a first cloud, a first dependency between the first resources, and second resources of a second cloud may be automatically discovered. Second resources of a second cloud may be discovered. A migration map between the first cloud and the second cloud may be generated based on the discovered first and second resources. The migration map may be recursively modified to increase accuracy of the migration map. The first resources may be migrated to the second cloud based on the modified migration map.

A method of policy-based scaling of network resources comprises, with a processor, creating a dependency data set for a number of application components on a network, setting a number of scaling policies by tier based on the dependency data set, and applying the scaling policies within the network. A method, system, and computer program product for measuring and assessing an organization's business adaptability is provided. In one embodiment, a taxonomy comprising a hierarchical list of taxonomy indicators that captures organizational elements that can be used to measure an organization's responsiveness to change is created. The taxonomy indicators are industry specific. A set of weights associated with the elements of the taxonomy, indicating a relevant contribution of each element to an overall adaptability of an organization, is assigned. The set of weights are industry specific. An enterprise profile is created assigning a level of adaptability to each taxonomy indicator indicating where, in a range of scores from low to high, an enterprise rates relative to the relevant taxonomy indicator. An adaptability result of the organization from the weights, taxonomy, and enterprise profile is then calculated. The adaptability result provides a quantitative assessment of the organization's adaptability.

System and method for quantitative assessment of organizational adaptability

A method, system, and computer program product for determining a business level metric for assessing the impact of performance degradation of IT components upon the revenue stream of an entity is provided. In one embodiment, the business level metric is determined by determining business functions that comprises a revenue stream for a line of business. Weights are then assigned to each business function, wherein the weights indicate the relative importance of each business function in relation to the other business functions. For each business function, the business processes that enable the completion of a specific business function are determined and weights. For each business process, critical service points for measuring the performance of supporting information technology components for the business process are determined and weights are assigned. The critical service points are then monitored and a partial business level metric raw score is determined.

Techniques are described for determining the complexity of a computing environment. The techniques include developing a model for the complexity of a computing environment based on the quantity of particular elements of the computing environment. The model includes two statistical weights for each element in the complexity model. One statistical weight is applied to each element to provide a complexity rating of the element. Another statistical weight is applied to each element to provide a complexity rating across all elements.
