A view interface system that is capable of displaying multiple user interfaces of different view formats may receive a data set request to display a data set in a particular view format. The view interface system may then transmit, to the backend view controller, the data set request and receive an indication that the data set is exposed by the backend view controller. Based on the indication, the view interface system may perform data binding of the data set to interface objects associated with the view format to form a user interface based on the view format and display the user interface.

A monitoring system is described which simplifies the management of complex, multi-tiered networks such as those used in large enterprises. One embodiment of the system is implemented on a cluster of application servers which are communicatively coupled together on a network to serve applications over the network to a plurality of clients. One embodiment of the monitoring system is built from a group of services. An administration service generates a plurality of runtime management beans ('MBeans') on each of the server nodes of the cluster and associates each of the runtime MBeans with specified server node resources. In addition, in one embodiment, a notification service generates cluster-wide notifications in response to certain specified events associated with certain resources of certain MBeans. The notification service distributes the notifications across all, or a subset of, the server nodes of the cluster. In addition, a monitor service generates monitor MBeans corresponding to selected runtime MBeans. The monitor MBeans are arranged in a hierarchical tree structure and are configured to receive monitoring data from associated runtime MBeans.

A monitoring system and method are described which simplify the management of complex, multi-tiered networks such as those used in large enterprises. One embodiment of the system is implemented across a cluster of application servers which are communicatively coupled together on a network to serve applications over the network to a plurality of client. Each application server is comprised of a plurality of server nodes. Each of the server nodes is assigned its own dedicated management bean ('MBean') server and each of the MBean servers are associated with a plurality of MBeans for monitoring specified system resources. In addition, one embodiment of the invention includes notification logic which generates cluster-wide notifications on certain specified events associated with certain server node resources. The cluster-wide notifications are accessible from any one of the server nodes within the application server cluster. Thus, a client communicatively coupled to any server node within the cluster will be provided with a comprehensive view of all cluster-wide notifications.

Embodiments of the invention are generally directed to a system and method for a remote Graphical User Interface (GUI). In an embodiment, a local computing system requests access to a remote computing system. In response, the remote computing system provides connection information to identify an appropriate GUI for accessing the remote computing system.
