An item of table furniture has a table top and a table frame supporting the table top. The table top, in plan view, is formed with first pair of opposite edges and a second pair of opposite edges. One edge of the first pair of edges is convex and the other edge of the first pair of edges is concave. The convex curvature and the concave curvature of the first pair of edges has a predetermined first radius of curvature of substantially equal size. One edge of the second pair of edges is longer than the other edge of the second pair of edges. Such a table can be arranged together with items of table furniture of the same kind and also with other items of furniture to an array in many ways.

An article of furniture, such as a chair, including a free-swinging seat and a free-swinging backrest. The chair includes a seat and backrest coupled to a chair frame, where the chair frame includes first and second laterally spaced apart components. The first and second components each have a floor strut and a pair of legs that may be arranged in a substantially triangular configuration for supporting the seat. The chair also includes a coupling device, which may include a spring element, coupled to the legs and configured to allow forward movement of the seat and backward movement of the backrest, where movement of the seat and backrest may occur independently of one another. In some embodiments, the maximum movement of the seat and backrest may be limited by restricting movement of the coupling device.

A swivel joint for pivotably coupling a tray to a support element of a seating implement. The swivel joint includes a tubular inner structure arranged substantially coaxially with and non-rotatably connectable to the support element, and a mounting structure at least partially surrounding the tubular inner structure in a radial direction. The mounting portion is pivotable relative to the tubular inner structure and rigidly coupled to the tray. The tubular inner structure includes at least one opening extending in the peripheral direction between two angular positions, and the mounting structure has at least one projection which projects in a radial direction and engages with the at least one opening of the tubular inner structure. The swivel joint provides additional structural integrity to compensate for loads on the tray and also provides a pivoting point to allow the tray to move easily between positions of use and non-use.

An item of seating furniture contains a seat providing a seat surface, a generally circular foot panel positioning the item of seating furniture on a floor, and a central part, which connects the seat to the foot panel and of which a vertical center axis runs centrally through the foot panel. The foot panel is of at least partially convex configuration and that side of the foot panel which is directed toward the floor is configured, at least in part, as a non-slip surface. This creates an ergonomic item of seating furniture which stands in a stable state.

A seating implement has a base frame, a sitting surface, a back rest, and a tablet. The tablet is fastened to a support element provided on one side of the base frame by way of a linkage mechanism, so that the table can swivel between a substantially horizontal position of use and a position of non-use. The tablet is dimensioned to support a notebook computer and the support element has a section running in a substantially horizontal plane, on which the tablet is pivotally fastened by way of the linkage mechanism. The substantially horizontal section is oriented at an angle to the direction of the sitting surface, and the tablet can swivel about an axis substantially parallel to this section.

A supporting arm for a projection apparatus has first and second arm sections and an articulation apparatus therebetween for interconnecting the arm sections. The projection apparatus can be fastened on a free end of the second arm section. The articulation apparatus permits the second arm section to rotate relative to the first arm section between a first position, in which the longitudinal axes of the arm sections run substantially mutually parallel, and a second position, in which the longitudinal axes of the arm sections run substantially mutually at right angles. A spring apparatus is coupled to the arm sections and has a spring force selected to compensate for a weight force of the second arm section and of the projection apparatus fastened thereon over substantially an entire rotational excursion of the second arm section relative to the first arm section. The invention describes a chair comprising a base structure, a seat having a seat surface and a backrest, a seat carrier for carrying the seat on the base structure, and a tilt mechanism which is arranged between the seat carrier and the base structure and which to improve the ergonomic properties of the chair is of such an arrangement and configuration that it permits inclination of the seat surface of the seat with respect to the horizontal both in a forward/rearward direction of the seat surface and also in a right/left direction of the seat surface. The tilt mechanism includes a pressure plate with a first conicity in the forward/rearward direction of the seat surface, by way of which the seat can be inclined in the forward/rearward direction, and a second conicity in the right/left direction of the seat surface, by way of which the seat can be inclined in the right/left direction.

An adjustable table system, particularly for conference or office tables, has at least one table leg with a table leg strut that can be attached from below the table top in one of several predetermined positions by sliding a first member with two spaced apart rows of longitudinally spaced engagement noses into engagement with a second member fixed to the underside of the table which also has two laterally spaced apart rows of longitudinally spaced engagement noses, wherein the noses of the first and second members are slidingly mated and secured in a mating position by a rotary locking mechanism. The table leg also has telescoping inner and outer tubes with a plastic bushing interposed therebetween and a setscrew mechanism at the top, with the leg being adjustable in the longitudinal direction by direct operation of the set screw from the top of said table leg or by rotating the outer tube in relation to the inner tube.
