The present invention relates to elastomer toothed belts comprising a fabric spanning the teeth of the toothed belt, wherein the elastomer mixture forming the teeth contains a crosslinked ethylene-propylene rubber (EPM) and/or a crosslinked ethylene-propylene terpolymer rubber (EPDM) accounting for at least 70% by weight of the elastomer mixture based on the polymer proportion and wherein an interlayer is arranged between the fabric and the elastomer mixture forming the teeth which contains at least 70% by weight of hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (HNBR) based on the polymer proportion of the interlayer. Such elastomer toothed belts are halogen-free and feature improved durability and good low-temperature stability properties. The present invention further relates to processes for producing such elastomer toothed belts and to the use of a layer of hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (HNBR) in such toothed belts to increase service life, to improve low-temperature stability and to improve the adhesion between the teeth and the fabric.

High-performance toothed belt made of EPDM

The invention relates to a drive belt () having a main body into which one or more tension strands () composed of para-aramid in cord construction are embedded, wherein each tension strand () has twisted plies each formed from at least one twisted yarn, and wherein the turning direction of the respective ply (first twist) is the opposite of the turning direction of the cord (final twist). It is a feature of the invention that the tension strands () each have at least four plies, wherein the twist factor TMof the plies (first twist) is between 4.5 and 5.4, and the twist factor TMof the cord (final twist) is between 2.7 and 3.8, and the ratio of the twist factor of the plies to the twist factor of the cord (TM/TM) is between 1.3 and 1.5.

Drive belt, use of a drive belt of this type as a V-ribbed belt, and production method

The present invention relates to a process for adhering a textile material to an elastomer, the process comprising the steps of pretreating the textile material with at least one polyester of an &#x3b1;-&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid, contacting the pretreated textile material with an unvulcanized elastomer, and vulcanizing the product obtained. The present invention additionally encompasses an elastomer article obtainable by this process and also the use of a polyester of an &#x3b1;-&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid for improving the adhesion of a textile material to an elastomer.

Process for bonding a textile material to an elastomer

A drive belt having a main body formed of an elastomeric material, preferably a v-belt or v-ribbed belt, the drive belt including a top layer as belt backing, a power transmission zone having two or more tensile strands as strength members, and also a substructure optionally provided with some profiling preferably having a v-shape or a v-rib profile. The strength members are formed of cords made of mutually twisted plies (final twist), the plies being in turn twisted out of individual yarns (first twist). The cords consist essentially of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and of two plies, the number of turns introduced into the plies twisted into a cord (final twist) and the number of turns introduced into the yarns twisted into a ply (first twist) differing by not more than 10 turns per meter (t/m).

Drive belt

A flexurally elastic drive belt () has a cover layer (), a reinforcement layer () formed of individual cords () and a substructure (). The substructure can include ribs () and grooves (). The drive belt is further provided with a textile overlay on the working side () thereof that is susceptible to wear. The textile overlay (; section B of FIG.) of the drive belt () combines a very durable resistance to wear and a noise attenuation especially for wet noises. This is achieved in that the overlay has, in a state in advance of fabrication and vulcanization, an elongation at tear of at least 30% in the longitudinal direction and of at least 100% in the transverse direction and is made of a textile material including staple fibers in a proportion in terms of quantity of at least 30% by weight.

Flexurally elastic drive belt

The invention relates to an article including an elastic main body on the basis of a vulcanized rubber () having an article surface that is susceptible to wear, which is provided with a textile layer. The textile layer, particularly a woven fabric () or knitted fabric, has a mesh design that allows the vulcanized rubber () to penetrate to the textile surface to form a textile-vulcanized rubber hybrid system (), wherein the vulcanized rubber portion on the textile surface can be controlled by means of the stitch number, stitch width and the thread design of the textile layer. The article is in particular a drive belt and in connection with the primary intended use, a method for making a drive belt is provided.

A power transmission belt () having an elastic main body () includes a top layer as the belt backing and a bottom section having a power transmission zone. The power transmission zone and/or the top layer has/have a coating (), characterized in that the coating () of the power transmission zone and/or the top layer includes at least the following layer construction: a base coating () made of a textile material, wherein the base coating () forms a bond with the elastic main body () and has a surface coating () including at least a mixture A, which contains at least one reactive diluent as per DIN 55945:2007-03. The invention further relates to a method for producing such a power transmission belt. The novel coating concept is applicable in particular in a toothed belt.

Power transmission belt, in particular toothed belt, and method for the production thereof

An article comprises an elastic main body on the basis of at least one thermoplastic elastomer or on the basis of a vulcanizate, with an article surface that is provided with a textile covering, wherein the textile covering is a plated knit fabric. The article is, in particular, a drive belt, preferably a V-ribbed belt.

V-ribbed belts are formed by thermoplastic shaping and contain ribs that run at least on a first side in a longitudinal direction of the V-ribbed belt. The first side contains a layer composed of a textile warp-knit fabric made up of two different yarns. The warp-knit fabric is constructed from a first yarn composed of filaments with a module of more than 5N/1000 dtex, and a second yarn composed of filaments with a module of less than 2 cN/1000 dtex, both based on 5% extension. The first and second yarns form a coherent network and the yarns do not twine around one another. V-ribbed belts can be formed using an elastic warp-knit fabric, whose extension is based on the construction of the knitted fabrics. The belts maintain better noise reduction both in the new state and after a relatively long service life.

The invention relates to an elastomeric product which contains a radical cross-linked rubber mixture, especially drive belts. For the production of elastomeric products, especially drive belts, having a long service life and producible in an environmentally friendly way, the rubber mixture contains (a) 0.1 to 50 phr of at least one carboxylic acid, which is at least &#x3b1;,&#x3b2; unsaturated and &#x3b3;,&#x3b4; unsaturated and preferably has at least one allylic hydrogen atom; and, (b) 0.1 to 50 phr of at least one salt-former as co-activator.

Elastomeric product having a radical cross-linked rubber mixture

The invention is directed to a drive belt of rubber or rubber-like plastic having a surface protection () which includes polyamide-containing textile reinforcement and/or polyester-containing textile reinforcement. On the outer side, a surface coating () of a friction-reducing material in a matrix of at least one elastic addition polymer is provided. For improved heat resistance with good protection against wear, the elastic addition polymer has less than 2% by weight based on the polymer of structural components &#x2014;O&#x2014;CR&#x2014;O&#x2014; with x=1-3 and y=0-6. The R in a structural component can be the same or can be different and is selected from hydrogen and/or carbon-containing groups.

The invention relates to a frictionally engaged driving belt having a base body () and a cover layer () that consists of rubber or a rubber-like synthetic material which is provided with a tractive support layer () that is embedded into the rubber or the rubber-like synthetic material. The aim of the invention is to prevent or reduce the generation of noise in drives of the belts. Only the surface or a portion of the surface, preferably the motion-transferring part of the surface, pertaining to the driving belt is provided with a flocking material consisting of short aramide fibers (). A portion of said aramide fibers () is integrated into the surface only with a partial length of each individual fiber.

A non-black rubber composition for pneumatic vehicle tire sidewalls consists of one or more rubber components, at least one processing agent, at least one additive, a first filler containing silica, 5 to 30 phr of a second filler containing mica platelets having a metal oxide coating, wherein the mica platelets have an average platelet size of up to 2&middot;10 m, 0.1 to 8 phr of a third filler in the form of aluminum powder having an average particle size of up to 8&middot;10 m.

Rubber composition for tire sidewalls

A rubber mixture, in particular for the tread of a tire, based on at least one polymer that is from the group of diene rubbers and respectively contains 5 to 100 parts by weight finely distributed, precipitated silicic acid, 0 to 80 parts by weight carbon black, if need be 0.2 to 10 parts by weight silane coupling agent, and 0.5 to 20 parts by weight of at least one non-aromatic, viscosity-reducing substance with regard to 100 parts by weight rubber. The viscosity-reducing, non-aromatic substance is based exclusively on the elements carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen and has a region with at least two hydroxyl groups that exist in the form of 1,2-diol or 1,3-diol, and a region of at least two chemically bonded carbon atoms, wherein neither the chemically bonded carbon atoms nor their chemically bonded neighboring carbon atoms are substituted with oxygen.

Rubber composition, particularly for tire tread

A pneumatic vehicle tire has a carcass with reinforcing members and radially inwardly positioned beads and a tread strip with a tread positioned radially outwardly on the carcass. An additional layer is placed on the tread strip for reinforcing the tread. The additional layer is made of a rubber or thermoplastic material. The additional layer has a tensile modulus of elasticity that is greater than the tensile modulus of elasticity of the tread strip. The additional layer is provided with reinforcement elements.
