The invention relates to a mechanical seal arrangement comprising a rotating slide ring () and a stationary slide ring () which define a sealing gap () between them and a bandage () which is arranged on the outer surface of at least one of the slide rings, the slide ring () on which the bandage () is arranged comprising a step (), which extends completely on the outer circumferential face in the circumferential direction and has a contact face (), and an end face () of the bandage () lying against the contact face () of the step ().

The present invention refers to a premounted mechanical seal unit, particularly for a fire extinguishing pump, with a rotating seal ring a stationary seal ring, the rotating seal ring and the stationary seal ring defining a seal gap thereinbetween, an inner sleeve which is connected to the rotating seal ring, an outer sleeve which is connected to the stationary seal ring, and a securing element which secures the outer sleeve to the inner sleeve. The inner sleeve and the outer sleeve in axial direction each have a length greater than a sum of the axial lengths of the rotating seal ring. The inner sleeve has a first form closure device on a first axial end and a second form closure device on a second axial end.

A retaining ring for a seal ring of a mechanical seal assembly comprises a recess () inserted at the side of one of its axial ends for a sealing receipt and force-fit assembly of the seal ring (). In the recess (), an engaging ring () made of a flexible material and having a corrugated profile at its inner periphery is retained, wherein at least the elevations () of the corrugated profile may be brought in a force-fit engagement with the outer periphery of the seal ring, when the seal ring is moved into the engaging ring by an external mounting force. Retaining ring for a seal ring of a mechanical seal assembly

A mechanical seal assembly to be used in sterile applications comprises a pair of co-operating seal rings (), one of which is held rotationally fixed and the other of which is provided to rotate together with a rotating component, wherein one of the seal rings is axially movable and biased by a spring against the other seal ring, a retainer housing () at which the rotating seal ring is retained near an axial end thereof, a mounting member () which may be mounted rotationally fixed at the rotating member, and a rotatory force transmission device () for transmitting a rotatory force between the mounting member and the retainer housing. The rotatory force transmission device () comprises a transmitting ring () retained in press-fit at the retainer housing () near the other axial end thereof, the transmitting ring including at least one protruding engagement member () engaging in an aligned recess in the mounting member. The retainer housing may therefore feature a desired smooth outer periphery without any dead spots.

Mechanical seal assembly

A sealing element for a face seal assembly including a bellows portion having mounting portions at its axial ends. One of the mounting portions is designed for non-rotational mounting on a component, e.g. a shaft, and the other for retaining an annular face member. The sealing element is formed, on at least the faces thereof exposed to a medium to be sealed, from a plastics material selected from a group of plastics materials comprising PEEK and ECTFE. The sealing element serves for applying a bias force to the annular face member. The sealing element enables the design of an uncomplicated, easily maintained, externally pressurised single action face seal assembly which is particularly suitable for sealing aggressive media.

Sealing element for a face seal assembly

A mechanical face seal device includes a bellows assembly comprising a bellows member of resilient material having axially spaced mounting portions interconnected by an intermediate foldable portion, one of said mounting portions being adapted to be fixed relative to a rotary component whilst the other is in torque transferring relationship with a rotary annular seal member, and a biasing means for diasing the rotary annular seal member against the stationary annular seal member. An essentially stiff support member having a predetermined radial dimension is provided for axially supporting the rotary annular seal member and is itself supported by the bellows member. The bellows assembly further comprises a driving housing having axially spaced force transferring portions, of which one is in force transferring relationship with the mounting portion of the bellows member at the annular seal member side, whilst the other one is in force transferring relationship with the mounting portion at the rotary component side thereof, wherein the force transferring portion facing the mounting portion at the component side has an internal radial dimension which is less than the external radial dimension of the support member and greater than external radial dimension of the rotary annular seal member.

Mechanical face seal device

A mechanical face seal assembly for sealing a rotating member with respect to a stationary member comprises at least a pair of cooperating annular sealing elements, of which one is mountable in a non-rotating manner with respect to the stationary member and the other for common rotation with the rotating member. Between the rotating member and the non-rotating sealing element an annular space is defined, the radial dimension of which varies between a region of minimum radial dimension and a region of maximum radial dimension, which are offset circumferentially to each other. Inlet means for introducing a buffer liquid into the annular space at or near to the region having a maximum radial dimension and outlet means for discharging said buffer liquid from said annular space at or near to the region having a minimum radial dimension are provided. At least one delivery-promoting recess is formed in a portion of the rotating member oriented axially to said annular space for promoting a flow of the buffer liquid along the annular space from the inlet to the outlet means and for receiving gas bubbles released from the buffer liquid when pressurized in the annular space.
