A closure for a filling tube of a motor vehicle with a swivel closure cover is arranged outside of a center opening of the filling tube in the tank and pivots around a swivel axis positioned in a plane perpendicular to the center axis of the opening. The closure is pre-stressed by a spring in a direction counter to the insertion movement of a filling pipe of a fuel supply nozzle. The closure is supported on a lower surrounding opening edge of the opening in the closed position to form a seal. An upstanding swivel facilitating element that can be contacted by the filling pipe is arranged on the closure. The closure cover is swiveled in a force-saving manner as a result of this swivel facilitating element. To achieve a safe and reliable closure operation of the closure cover for refuelling, and to reduce, as much as possible, an amount of force along the total insertion path of the filing tube, it is proposed to attach the swivel facilitating element to the upper side of the closure cover and to shape the element like a curved disc. The element has a guidance plane that faces the swivel axis. The highest geodetic position of the guidance plane, in the closed position, forms an end region farthest from the swivel axis of the course of the guidance plane that extends in the direction of the swivel axis. The swivel facilitating element is displaced from an edge of the closure cover in the direction of the closure cover center. An area section at the front of the filling pipe initially reaches the swivel facilitating element, during insertion into the filling tube, at an end region farthest from the swivel axis of the closure cover.

Closure for a filling tube of the tank of a motor vehicle and operation

A device for robotizable refuelling of a vehicle includes a docking component which can be installed on a filling tube of a fuel tank of the vehicle for receiving a pistol nozzle, in which the pistol nozzle can be locked, in axial and peripheral directions, and which has a central passage for a fill pipe of the pistol nozzle. The device contains a hollow cylindrical ring carrier element provided with a central passage fastened on an underside of the docking element. A locking ring provided with radially projecting bayonet arms is held against torsion but axially moveable on the ring carrier element. A compression spring is braced between the underside of the locking ring on the one hand and a connection of the ring carrier element. The device can be installed on the edge of the filling tube, which is provided with recesses for passage of bayonet arms of the locking ring at an inlet side to form a bayonet lock. In order to make secure refuelling possible in a simple manner, the ring carrier element carries a coupling ring arranged torsion fast on the filling tube lying on top of the locking ring. Stop structures corresponding to each other are defined on an upper side of the coupling ring and on the underside of the docking element so that the docking element can be fixed on the coupling ring.

Device for and method of robotizable refuelling of a vehicle

A closing device for the filler neck of a motor vehicle tank, in which device an orifice of the filler neck, opening into the tank interior can be closed by means of a cap which can be placed sealingly onto the orifice edge under a closing force. The closing force is exerted by a spring. The nozzle of a filling pump to be introduced into the filler neck can operate opening movement of the cap. The cap can be displaced between the closing and the opening position via an actuating mechanism by means of a variable transmission ratio having a value decreasing from the closing position of the cap to its open position and by means of a variable closing force having a value increasing from the open position of the cap to the closing position.

Closing device for the fueling opening of a motor vehicle tank

In an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine having a main exhaust conduit with a catalytic converter arranged remote from the engine and a bypass exhaust conduit which includes a start-up catalytic converter arranged close to the engine and joins the main exhaust gas conduit ahead of said remote catalytic converter, an ejector structure is arranged in the main exhaust gas conduit within a housing defining a suction chamber in communication with the bypass exhaust conduit for drawing gas through the bypass exhaust conduit into said main exhaust gas conduit whenever exhaust gas flows from the engine through the main exhaust gas conduit and a main exhaust conduit valve is arranged between the ejector structure and the junction of the main and the bypass exhaust conduits which is closed during start-up operation of the engine to thereby force the exhaust gas to flow through the suction chamber and the bypass exhaust gas conduit via the start-up catalytic converter.

Internal combustion engine exhaust system

A cooling-air ducting system in the front-end space of a motor vehicle is described, which front-end space is delimited by a front-end wall having an air inlet opening and in which front-end space is arranged a cooler through which cooling air flows, having a cooling-air ducting space between front-end wall and cooler and a cooling-air fan downstream of the cooler. In order to achieve a sufficient cooler surface area, in particular in the case of a low overall height of the front-end space, while continuing to use the cooling air fan driven by the internal combustion engine, the cooler is divided into a plurality of individual component parts which are arranged staggered relative to one another in such a way that they overlap with spacing relative to one another in the driving direction of the motor vehicle and that they are acted upon in common by the cooling-air fan.

Cooling-air ducting system in the front-end space of a motor vehicle

An antiremoval device for a locking mechanism for a steering column lock for motor vehicles is disclosed. A fastening member extending through releasably connected housing parts, which prevent tampering with the locking parts, engages additionally into a displaceable catch of the locking parts when the catch is in a locking position with the steering column to thereby prevent the fastening member from being moved to a position releasing the housing parts.

Antiremoval device for a locking mechanism

A driving connection between spline shafts and spline bore hubs of safety steering columns, where the shaft and the hub, because of prestressing torque existing between the two, can be shifted with respect to one another axially but are free from torsional play. The prestressing torque is generated by a torsion spring element supported between the shaft and the hub. The required freedom from torsional play is achieved by arranging a main hub and an additional hub on the shaft with the torsion spring element connecting the main hub with the additional hub so that the main hub and the additional hub are spring loaded in opposite rotational directions.
