An internal combustion engine having a mechanical supercharger for compressing the combustion air in the intake manifold. The supercharger communicates with a charge-air cooler which is arranged downstream in the direction of flow of the combustion air and is connected to the intake manifold. In order to design an internal combustion engine in such a way that as few alterations to the basic engine as possible are required for the arrangement of the supercharger, the supercharger, the charge-air cooler and the intake manifold are formed as an interchangeable supercharger module held on a support plate.

A filling system for robot-capable filling of a motor vehicle with fuel has a filler nozzle and a tank filler neck, with a docking extension provided with a central opening being provided on the neck on the filling side of the vehicle. The extension is rotatable by an upper section around the axis of symmetry to open and close a tank closure. The filler nozzle is dockable by its outlet end to form a positive connection between the filler nozzle and the docking extension. When the filler nozzle is ready for filling, positive elements distributed around the circumference of the filler nozzle and the docking extension mesh positively with one another. In order to achieve a simple docking of the filler nozzle on the filler neck of the vehicle fuel tank for a filling that is always functionally reliable and unimpeded, the positive elements of one docking partner are radially movable and actuatable in the radial direction fluidically, and the positive elements of the other docking partner are rigid. In the former, the movable positive elements are lockable in a locked position that acts in the circumferential direction and produces axial locking. The elements are completely retracted into the docking partner on which they are mounted in the unlocked position of the docking partner.

A filling system for robot-capable filling of a motor vehicle with fuel includes a filler nozzle and a tank filler neck having a cylindrical docking extension provided with a central opening mounted on the filler side. In the upper section of the extension, rotatable around the axis of symmetry for the opening and closing of the tank closure, the filler nozzle is dockable by its outlet end to form a positive connection between the filler nozzle and the docking extension. In order to achieve in simple fashion a docking of the filler nozzle on the filler neck of the vehicle fuel tank for filling the tank that is always functionally reliable and free of impediments, it is provided that the positive elements of the two docking partners are lockable in one another in a locked position that acts axially and locks in a circumferential direction, with the positive elements of one of the docking partners being guided radially movably and flexibly tensioned in a working position opposite to the force of a pretensioning spring. The positive elements of the other docking partner are mounted rigidly, and the two docking partners are so designed that the radially displaceable positive elements are operable by a force directed axially to the docking extension.

A filling system for robot-capable filling of a vehicle with fuel has a filler nozzle and a tank filler neck on which a docking extension provided with a central opening is mounted on the filling side. The extension is rotatable by an upper section around the axis of symmetry for opening and closing a tank closure. The filler nozzle is dockable by its end on an outlet side, forming a positive connection between the filler nozzle and the docking extension, with positive elements in the form of teeth distributed around its circumference. The teeth have a hub section and interlock with one another positively when the filler nozzle is ready for filling. In order to achieve functionally reliable docking of the filler nozzle on the filler neck of the vehicle fuel tank and to permit rapid undocking of the filler nozzle from the filler extension, a locking body, urged radially outward by a pretensioning spring, is provided on the outlet side of the filler nozzle. The locking body is guidable relative to an upwardly adjacent positive element of the filler nozzle along a guide path that runs in the circumferential direction, and is inserted completely into the filler nozzle by rotating the filler nozzle at one end of the guide path. The body also projects radially out of the filler nozzle at the other end in such fashion that its bevelled surface abuts underneath the matching positive element of the docking extension beneath which it grips.

A motor vehicle electrical system has an electrical machine with an on-board power supply generator function. The electrical machine can be operated, in a first mode, as an on-board power supply generator, having a regulator for setting the excitation current for the electrical machine, and having an electrical load having a comparatively high power consumption, for example a heating device for an exhaust gas catalytic converter. A changeover switch, by means of which an output of the electrical machine can optionally be connected to an on-board power supply cable or to the load, as well as a control unit for controlling the regulator and changeover switch optionally in the first mode or a second mode, is provided so that the electrical machine is connected to the on-board power supply and the regulator regulates the operating voltage at an on-board power supply voltage. Alternatively, the electrical machine is connected to the load and the regulator regulates the operating voltage at a higher nominal value. In addition to these two functions, a third function as a starter motor is provided for the electrical machine.
