A plate-shaped holder for holding a first component on a supporting part, including a base plate, devices arranged on the base plate for fastening the holder on the first component, and devices arranged on the base plate for mounting the holder on the supporting part. The devices for fastening the holder on the first component contain a fastening bolt guide which projects from a first side of the base plate. A fastening bolt is fitted through the fastening bolt guide from the other, second base plate side, as a single fastening element between the holder and the first component. The free front end of the fastening bolt guide forms a first support point for the first component. Several supporting pins project from the first base plate side which form, by means of their free front ends, additional support points for the first component and of which two form a tilt-stabilizing triangle together with the first support point.

In a brake-pressure control device for a road vehicle having a hydraulic two-circuit brake system with front-axle/rear-axle brake circuit distribution, an anti-lock brake system (ABS) operates according to the recirculation principle and a device for dynamic movement control (FDR) requires the wheel brakes to be individually capable of automatic activation. The recirculation pumps of the ABS are utilized as pressure sources. The recirculation pump of the rear-axle brake circuit is constructed as a self-priming pump while the recirculation pump of the front-axle brake circuit is constructed as a non-self priming pump. The minimum pressure which is required for the input supply of the non-self priming pump is produced by a precharging cylinder which is connected between the main cylinder of the brake system and the ABS hydraulic unit. This precharging cylinder has a hydraulic or pneumatic drive cylinder for whose pressure supply a built-in hydraulic or pneumatic pressure source, e.g. the permanently driven supply pump of a ride leveller or the pressure supply pump of a pneumatic suspension, is used.

A hydraulic dual-circuit brake system for a road vehicle, with front-axle/rear-axle brake-circuit division, is equipped with an anti-lock system working on the recirculation principle, a device for driving-dynamics control and a device for the automatic initiation of full braking when the driver actuates the brake pedal at a speed .phi. which is higher than a relevant threshold value .phi..sub.s. A pedal-position sensor and a pressure sensor which generates electrical output signals characteristic of the brake pressure fed into the front-axle brake circuit provide control of the brake-pressure control unit into the brake-pressure supply mode both by the pedal-controlled pressure loading of a drive-pressure space of its brake booster and by the valve-controlled pressure loading of the drive-pressure space of the brake booster. The valve-controlled pressure loading is capable of being initiated automatically by output signals from an electronic control unit. For a supplementary or sole supply of brake pressure to the front-axle brake circuit, an auxiliary cylinder can, by valve control, be loaded with and relieved again of the outlet pressure of an auxiliary-pressure source and is a pressure intensifier. Thereby, brake fluid can be displaced into the front-axle brake circuit both during normal braking and during automatically controlled braking. The brake-fluid quantity can be controlled in a predeterminable monotonic correlation from a comparative processing of the output signals of the pedal-position sensor with the output signals of the pressure sensor.

Vehicle hydraulic dual-circuit brake system

In a drive-slip control device on a road vehicle equipped with an anti-lock system and having a hydraulic dual-circuit brake system, in which at least on the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels, the ABS works on the return-flow principle and the ASR on the principle of decelerating a vehicle wheel tending to spin by subjecting its wheel brake to pressure. For the drive-slip control mode, a return pump of the ABS (assigned to the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels) is utilized as an auxiliary-pressure source. By means of an ASR control valve, the affected brake unit can be shut off from the main brake line of the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels. The return pump is connected to the return line of the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels. By means of an accumulator isolating valve the return line can be shut off from a buffer accumulator provided for receiving brake fluid bled from the wheel brake and from the inlet of the return pump during normal braking. In a braking operation subjected to the anti-lock control the return line can be connected to the buffer accumulator. An isolating valve is connected to that portion of the low-pressure supply path of the return pump extending from the outlet non-return valve during braking and wherein the low-pressure supply path of the return pump is shut off from the wheel brake during a pressure build-up phase of the drive-slip control.

Braking system for a vehicle with drive-slip control (ASR) and anti-lock

A drive-slip control device (ASR) for a road vehicle also equipped with an anti-lock system (ABS) that works on the return-flow principle. The ASR works on the principle of decelerating a vehicle wheel tending to spin by subjecting its wheel brake to pressure. During the drive-slip control mode, the return pump of the ABS, has its inlet supply take place via a precharging pump as an auxiliary-pressure source. By an ASR control valve, the affected brake unit can be shut off from the main brake line of the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels. A valve arrangement, which is activatable by the output pressure of the precharging pump is provided to connect the outlet non-return valve of the precharging pump, and the ASR outlet valve (connected between the brake-fluid reservoir and the return line) to a pressure-medium line subjected to brake pressure for normal braking. In the drive-slip control mode, the valving arrangement connects the pressure-medium line to the return line and the outlet of the precharging pump to the inlet of the return pump of the brake circuit. A fault detection device is also provided.

Braking system for a road vehicle equipped with a drive-slip control

A drive-slip braking control device (ASR) for a road vehicle equipped with an anti-lock system (ABS) and having a hydraulic dual-circuit brake system, in which, on the brake circuit (II) of the driven vehicle wheels, the ABS works on the return-flow principle and the ASR on the principle of decelerating a vehicle wheel tending to spin by subjecting its wheel brake to pressure from an auxiliary-pressure source. A return pump of the ABS (assigned to the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels) is utilized as an auxiliary-pressure source for the drive-slip control mode. The brake unit can be shut off from the main brake line of the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels by an ASR control valve. The brake fluid supply flow path leading from the brake-fluid reservoir of the brake system to the inlet side of the return pump of the brake circuit of the driven wheel is one of the compensating flow paths of the brake unit. An inflow control valve is connected between the inlet side of the return pump and the delivery outlet of the brake unit for feeding brake fluid to the return pump in the ASR mode. The inflow control valve can be changed over from its shutoff position assigned to the braking mode into a throughflow position assigned to the drive-slip control mode. A leak detector mechanism is also included.

A fail safe control for a brake unit with an integral hydraulic brake booster for a road vehicle with a hydraulic dual-circuit braking system having a static front-axle brake circuit and a static rear-axle brake circuit connected respectively to primary and a secondary outlet-pressure space. The primary outlet-pressure space is delimited, by a piston element of the primary-piston arrangement and is in constant communicating connection with a second part space which is delimited by a secondary piston and by two piston elements which are displaceable relative to one another. One of these two piston elements is designed as an annular piston and the second as a plunger piston. A yoke-shaped first axial-force transmission element couples the primary piston with only one of the two piston elements. There is also a second axial-force transmission element coupling the other piston element with the drive piston and a third axial-force transmission element, via which a pedal force acts on the yoke-shaped axial-force transmission element upon failure of the brake booster.

Brake unit

In a tandem master cylinder, the primary and secondary outlet-pressure spaces of which are respectively limited in the axial direction by the push-rod or primary piston and a secondary piston designed as a floating piston or by the latter and an end wall fixed relative to the housing. A restoring spring urging the secondary piston into its basic position is arranged in a central cavity located in the secondary piston which is limited by a blind bore of the latter. The restoring spring is supported on the piston side on the inner face of the bottom of a pot-shaped supporting projection facing toward the primary piston and belonging to the secondary piston and, on the housing side, on a radial stop pin passing through a longitudinal slot of an intermediate part of the secondary piston extending between the two piston flanges which form the respective pressure-tight displaceable limitation of the secondary outlet-pressure space on the one hand and of the primary outlet-pressure space on the other hand. Because of this arrangement of the restoring spring urging the secondary piston into its basic position, that part of the cylinder housing which limits the secondary outlet-pressure space fixedly relative to the housing can be reduced by an amount corresponding approximately to the compressed block length of a restoring spring.

An antilocking braking system which operates by controlling the pressure reduction and pressure build-up phases at vehicle wheel brakes by changing the volume of a primary chamber of a pressure modulator, to which the wheel brakes are connected via a brake pressure 2/2-way solenoid controlled valve and an inlet valve. The primary chamber of the pressure modulator is connected to a pressure output of a brake booster. The pressure modulator is designed as a hydraulically driven pump whose feed volume per stroke corresponds to approximately 25% to 50% of the maximum brake fluid quantity which can be expelled into the connected brake circuit, and if, when the inlet valve is closed, one stroke of the pump is not sufficient to achieve a required pressure reduction at the connected wheel brakes, then the pump is switched to a return feed mode in that the brake pressure control valves are driven to their blocking positions and the inlet valve is driven to its open position.

Antilocking system for a road vehicle

In an antilocking braking system, a pressure modulator is provided for the control of pressure reduction and pressure build-up phases, wherein a drive pressure space of this modulator is placed under a pressure control to move a modulator piston into an end position associated with a minimum volume of a work chamber, which forms a section of the master brake line. In this end position, a spring-loaded inlet valve, connected between the work chamber of the pressure modulator and the brake booster of the brake system, is held in its open position by a tappet. As a result of pressure release in the drive pressure space, the modulator piston is displaced in the direction of its end position associated with a maximum volume of the work chamber, so that brake fluid can flow back into the work chamber from one or more wheel brakes connected to this work chamber. In order to provide functional reliability and protect against a malfunction of the modulator together with its auxiliary pressure source and/or its inlet valve, a bypass flow path is provided which is both parallel to the flow path leading from the work chamber of the pressure modulator to the wheel brakes, and which can be released and closed by a solenoid valve.

In an antilocking ABS and propulsion ASR control system for a road vehicle, there is a brake pressure regulating member used for both antilocking ABS and for propulsion ASR control in which a hydraulic cylinder having a piston driven under valve controls defines an ABS control space, increasing when a drive pressure space of the cylinder is subjected to pressure, and an ASR outlet pressure space, decreasing when the drive pressure space of the hydraulic cylinder is subjected to pressure; and wherein, in normal braking, not subjected to ABS or ASR control, both spaces are connected to the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels. The control system is activated as a result of the valve control connection of an auxiliary pressure source to the drive pressure space of the hydraulic cylinder. The control mode is selected by means of a function control valve arrangement which, in the event of antilocking ABS control, connects the main brake line with only the ABS control space and, in the event of propulsion ASR control connects the main brake line with only the ASR outlet pressure space.

A brake system with hydraulic power assistance having a control valve which connects a fluid pressure to a brake booster for normal braking and disables the brake booster and connects fluid pressure to a counterpiston which moves an output piston enlarging the output pressure space and thereby lowering the brake pressure during antilock control. The source of pressure may be a brake pedal proportional booster pressure derived from an auxiliary pressure source or may be the auxiliary pressure source itself.

A brake pressure control unit operable by a hydraulic brake power booster and functionally corresponding to a tandem master cylinder for two statically pressurizable brake circuits has two casing bores spaced laterally apart. In one of the bores, the primary output pressure space bounded by the primary piston and floating piston is accommodated, and in the second bore, a piston which is also a floating piston, bounds the secondary output pressure space by a piston flange. The floating piston bounding the primary output pressure space on one side has the effect of building up, in the end control pressure spaces of the first and second bores, the control pressure acting on the second floating piston. This pressure leads to a displacement of the second floating piston in the sense of a pressure build-up in the secondary pressure space. The second floating piston is connected to a double-acting hydraulic cylinder, which is likewise accommodated in the second casing bore. By alternative pressurization and relief of working spaces of the hydraulic cylinder taking place via electrically controllable valves, antilocking and propulsion regulation functions are made possible in the brake circuit connected to the secondary output pressure space. The primary piston of the brake pressure control unit has an annular piston and a plunger piston, having annular seals which impart reciprocal sealing and also sealing from the primary piston bore. By these annular seals, axially extending, coaxially arranged separating spaces are bounded, these spaces imparting an effective media separation between the hydraulic booster circuit and the primary brake circuit.

A modulator for a vehicle with a power-assisted hydraulic multiple-circuit brake system, providing an output pressure to a static brake circuit that is proportional to the sum of the forces affecting a pressure modulator piston. These forces include a pedal pressure from the brake-pressure control device to a first driving pressure space of the modulator and booster pressure from the pressure of a proportional control valve to a second driving pressure space of the modulator, which shifts the modulator piston to decrease the output pressure space. Forces produced by auxiliary pressure in a counterpressure space shifts the modulator piston to enlarge the output pressure space. A control valve arrangement disconnects the second driving pressure space from the booster pressure and instead relieves pressure of the second driving pressure space in pressure-reduction phases of the antilock control. The pressure reduction control takes place by the control valve coupling of the output pressure of the auxiliary pressure source into a counterpressure space, thereby shifting the modulator piston in the sense of a volume expansion of its output pressure space and as a result, reducing the pressure in the wheel brake.
