The invention relates to a process for distributing an especially medium-consistent fibrous suspension in front of a dewatering device. It is distinguished in that the fibrous suspension is taken to the dewatering device in fluidized form and evenly distributed. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the process in which there is a closed device with a fluidizing rotor in front of the dewatering device.

Process and device for distributing a pulp suspension, particularly at medium consistency

A process and apparatus for drying material, in which a previous dried material is mixed into the wet material to be dried to produce a dried mixture of different particle sizes. The process for drying material requires less industrial equipment implemented in a more economical and simpler plant that can be operated with low energy and maintenance requirments. The amount of fine material obtained after drying is measured and the amount of fine previously dried material mixed into the wet material to be dried is then set in inverse proportion to the quantity of fine dried material produce.

Process and apparatus for drying material

The invention relates to a process for the separation, in particular filtration of liquids and solids from solid-liquid mixtures, such as from a mineral, ore, coal or sludge suspensions of contaminated earth. The processing space of the filtration apparatus is submitted to overpressure and includes a collector container for solid-liquid mixture, a pressure filter, a discharge system and container for condensate and solid matter. The separation or filtration takes place at an overpressure and at an elevated temperature, preferably 40.degree. C. to 300.degree. C., conveniently 60.degree. C. to 200.degree. C., preferably about 150.degree. C. The pressure filter device communicates with a source for a heated medium.

A suction roll (1), in particular for a paper web dryer, comprising a perforated roll jacket (2), with at least one non-rotatable hollow shaft (3) which communicates with the interior of the suction roll via openings (7, 7') and at least one closing member (9) displaceable in the axial direction for separating off at least one peripheral region of the suction roll. The at least one, in particular disc-shaped dividing wall (5) is located in the suction roll interior and has at least one, preferably central opening (22). It can be of benefit when the dividing wall (5) corotates with the roll and/or when the at least one closing member (9) has the form of a hollow cylinder. Further, if the non-rotatable hollow shaft (3) is designed to be axially displaceable, it can be used to control the size of the opening (22) in the dividing wall (5).

Suction roll in particular for a paper web dryer

A process for the guiding of fibre web or the like, in particular for paper production, especially in paper driers, wherein the suction applied can be varied both in real time operation and along the axes of the one or more suction rolls that is/are present and which may be used in conjunction with at least one travelling screen or the like. The object is to make the start-up process for the treatment of fibre webs on suction rolls more convenient without too much equipmental and operational overhead, and to prevent shrinkage of the web by providing good location at the web in the edge regions. This is achieved by restricting the suction which acts on the inside of the roll jacket to a region of the roll jacket which comes into contact with a lead-in strip for the fibre web during start-up operation. This process is continued until a sufficient length of fibre web has passed over the suction roll for the web to have reached its full or final width on this suction roll. As the web width increases the suction spreads out to encompass the full width of the fibre web. The control of the vacuum within the compartments of the suction roll is preferably effected by means of valve discs provided on slide rods.

Method and apparatus for the guiding of fibre webs

The suction roll, especially for a paper web drier, comprises a perforated roll shell containing therein an internal chamber partitioned by a wall member transversely arranged with respect to the lengthwise axis of the suction roll. A connection flow communicates the interior of the suction roll with a suction device, preferably a vacuum pump. At least one blade or vane within the suction roll at least reduces or prevents a possibly arising rotational or cyclone-like flow. Thus, the pressure differential brought about by the suction device can be completely used for creating the suction action and for fixing the paper web at the suction roll. This rotational or cyclone-like flow particularly occurs when the suction action is applied through a hollow shaft or duct.

Suction roll, especially for a paper web drier

The apparatus for interconnecting two groups of driers of a papermaking machine serves to interconnect two successive drying sections through which successively travels a paper web which is dried by such successive drying sections. When needed or desired, such interconnection must be interrupted. For this purpose there are used additional elements which are capable of bringing about a separation of the endless drying wires associated with the respective web drying sections and, at the same time, during normal operation, that is, during the transfer of the paper web from the one to the other drying section, affording a regulatable operation capable of retaining the quality of the paper web. Thus, for this purpose there are proposed the use of adjustable rollers and also suction boxes operated under vacuum conditions.

Apparatus for interconnecting two groups of driers of a papermaking

The apparatus comprises a work surface heated by a heat carrier medium and located upon a heat-conducting layer carried by a metallic base body. The base body is provided with grooves at its surface confronting the heat-conducting layer and/or this heat-conducting layer is provided at its surface confronting the base body with grooves. The work surface is heated by infeeding the heat carrier medium into the grooves. To influence heat transfer to the heat-conducting layer carrying the work surface, particularly to a sheet metal plating or the like, for instance a cylinder jacket seated in direct metallic contact or only through the intermediate disposition of a transition layer of good thermal conductivity, upon the base body, there are provided control means regulating heat conduction from the base body to the heat-conducting layer and/or from the heat carrier medium guided in the grooves to the base body or the heat-conducting layer. This is accomplished by advantageously designing the confronting surfaces of the base body and heat-conducting layer, to possess recesses or supplementary grooves, different roughenings of the base body surface, additional lengthwise and/or transverse grooves in the base body surface or in the surface of the heat-conducting layer confronting the base body surface, or insulation strips.

Apparatus containing a work surface heated with a heat carrier medium

The invention relates to a machine for pressing or dewatering and filtering of suspensions, sludges and the like with at least one driven endless pressure belt and further in particular at least one circulating endless filter belt, the pressure belt serving for the support of the filter belt. For the exertion of surface pressure onto the pressure belt, at least one frame-like, resilient, elastic hollow pad or a resilient, elastic hollow frame is provided, their interior being suitable for the admission of pressure medium and the pad or frame enclosing a pressure space, with a gap being provided at least during the admission of pressure medium between the hollow pad or hollow frame and the pressure belt.

Machine for pressing and dewatering or filtering

The invention relates to an improvement in a dehydration machine for wood pulp, sludges, or similar fibrous material, composed of a lower strainer operating as a support strainer and an upper strainer operating as the cover strainer, which loop support and reversing rolls and are adapted to pass jointly with the material to be dehydrated coming from a material feed through a wedging section and through pairs of pressing rolls in a pressing section, the improvement comprising a laterally sealed wedging section arranged substantially vertically or at an incline, followed directly by a reversal means provided with a lateral seal, and the pressing section including a group of rolls which at the beginning contains a pair of first and second pressing rolls mounted next to each other, with a pressing roll contacting the second pressing roll.

Dehydration machine for pulp, sludges or similar fibrous materials

A material web drier containing a device for controlling the gas flow of a drying medium as a function of the actual state of the wet material web which is to be dried, comprising nozzle casings or surfaces containing blow-out or discharge openings arranged in cooperating relationship with respect to the material web. The discharge openings are directed towards the material web and serve for blowing-out the drying medium onto the web. For the purpose of dosing the gas flow or stream effluxing at the nozzle casings or surfaces, there are provided opening and closing elements which free the discharge openings or partially or completely close the same, as desired, whereby it is possible to vary the impingement of the material web by the drying medium selectively at discrete locations or regions thereof, both in the lengthwise and transverse directions of such material web.
