A method of producing a piston blank, comprising producing an intermediate blank of a piston for an axial piston machine by extrusion wherein the intermediate blank includes a shaft portion, a ball head portion, and a sealing portion, wherein the shaft portion connects the ball head portion to the sealing portion. The method also includes producing a piston blank of the piston from the intermediate blank and machining a through-opening in the intermediate blank, wherein the through-opening extends within the piston blank in the longitudinal direction.

Tapered roller bearings and methods of producing the same are disclosed. One method is for producing an inner ring for a tapered roller bearing in which the inner ring comprises a raceway portion and a fixed edge portion. The method may include providing an inner ring blank and an unfinished fixed edge portion. The inner ring blank may include an unfinished raceway portion and the unfinished fixed edge portion may have a larger outside diameter than the unfinished raceway portion. The inner ring blank may have a through-opening. The inner ring blank may be formed into the inner ring by extrusion in a main forming step, the unfinished fixed edge portion being transformed into the fixed edge portion and the unfinished raceway portion being transformed into the raceway portion. The inner ring may be formed in its final contour without any cutting.

Bearing assemblies, such as angular contact bearing assemblies, and methods of producing the same are disclosed. One angular contact ball bearing may include an inner ring and an outer ring, the inner ring having an outer raceway and the outer ring having an inner raceway. A plurality rolling elements may be arranged between the outer raceway and the inner raceway. The outer raceway may be formed by an extrusion of the inner ring and/or the inner raceway may be formed by an extrusion of the outer ring. The raceways may be extruded in their final contour, without any cutting.
