A high-speed hydrodynamic adjustable converter having a working chamber for forming a hydrodynamic working medium circuit wherein a pump wheel, a turbine wheel and a guide wheel are positioned in the working chamber. The working medium flows through the pump wheel centrifugally or centrifugally-diagonally; and the working medium flows through the turbine wheel centripetally or centripetally-diagonally. The inlet grate edge of the turbine wheel, with respect to an axis of rotation of the pump wheel and the turbine wheel, is positioned on a smaller or equal radius than an inlet grate edge of the pump wheel. The hydrodynamic converter has a first guide wheel in the working chamber before the pump wheel viewed in the direction of flow of the working medium, the guide wheel being arranged for purely centrifugal or diagonal-centrifugal throughflow of the working medium and is used to influence the power transmission.

Hydrodynamic converter

A power transmission device includes a hydrodynamic converter. The blading of the pump wheel and/or turbine wheels includes at least one adjusting blade which can be actuated by an adjusting device, and/or at least one multi-element blade having at least one adjustable blade segment.

Power transmission device

A vehicle cooling circuit, especially an engine cooling circuit, including a cooling medium pump and a vehicle drive engine and/or other heat-generating assembly cooled by means of the cooling medium. The circuit includes a hydrodynamic retarder with the working medium of the hydrodynamic retarder simultaneously also being the cooling medium of the cooling circuit, and the hydrodynamic retarder operating as the cooling medium pump. The secondary blade wheel is associated with a brake or a drive running counter to the drive of the primary blade wheel in such a way that it can optionally be fixed in a first operating state (braking operation) or be driven counter to the rotational direction of the primary blade wheel and, in a second operating state (pumping operation), can partially or completely be released such that it circulates at the speed of the primary blade wheel or at a specified speed difference slower than the primary blade wheel.

Vehicle cooling circuit having a retarder or a hydrodynamic clutch

The invention involves a process for controlling the rotational speed of a drive motor during a start-up period, in a drive train, containing at least one starter element that can be coupled to the drive motor, in a rotationally fixed manner, in the form of a hydrodynamic coupling, containing a primary blade wheel and a secondary blade wheel, which form together at least one toroid-shaped working space. According to the invention, the rotational speed of the drive motor is set as a function of the power that can be consumed by the hydrodynamic coupling. The consumable power can be controlled or regulated.

Hydrodynamic component

The invention relates to a starter unit () comprising an input (E) which may be coupled to a drive input, an output (A) which may he coupled to a drive output, a starter element () in the form of a hydrodynamic coupling (), a switchable clutch (), comprising at least two clutch elements, which may be brought into frictional engagement, either directly or indirectly, by means of further transfer agents, being a first clutch element () and a second clutch element () each rotationally fixed to the input (E) and the output (A) respectively. The hydrodynamic coupling () and the switchable clutch () are arranged in a parallel fashion in two power branches () and may be activated individually or in common.
