Various embodiments of the teachings herein include a method for configuring an industrial communication network. The method may include: deploying an application to a digital twin set up to represent an industrial communication system, devices connected to the network, processes, and physical interactions; running the application on the digital twin; collecting data of the application's communication traffic; classifying the application's end points and communication characteristics based on the collected communication traffic; changing the communication characteristics of the communication links until reaching limits of performance quality; deriving network parameters required by the application; and configuring the industrial communication network based on the determined network parameters.

A method is provided for determining an installation location. The method includes: providing a machine-readable description of the application to be installed; enhancing the machine-readable description with further requirements and/or properties; linking the application to be installed with an object identifier which includes the enhanced description and the requirements and/or properties of the application to be installed; linking objects existing in the distributed network environment with, in each case, at least one further object identifier which describes at least one property of an object; storing the object identifiers of the application to be installed and of the objects in the distributed network environment in a database; receiving a query regarding the application to be installed; providing the stored object identifiers of the application to be installed and of the objects for an evaluation unit; and receiving a determined appropriate installation location from the evaluation unit.

Method and system for determining an appropriate installation location for an application to be installed in a distributed network environment

The disclosure relates to a method for allocating at least one digital resource of a local, modular computer network. The computer network has at least two computing modules. Each of the computing modules is assigned a resource value for a digital resource. In accordance with a resource request having a demand value, at least one of the digital resources is allocated to the request. The demand value is compared with at least one of the resource values. The method acts and the associated algorithms may be stored in particular in an image file. Because of the high flexibility of the method, mobile computing modules, etc., may also be integrated into the local, modular computer network. The computer network thus exhibits the modular and flexible character of the computer network. The computer network is not configured as a fixed structure, but rather may also dynamically expand and contract.

Allocation of digital resources within a local, modular computer network (edge cloud)

A method for communication in an energy automation network having a number of substations, each including energy automation component(s) and an internal communication network for message exchange. The communication networks of the substations are interconnected for message exchange via a public network without multicast support. Each energy automation component may include an application for controlling a communication unit, wherein messages according to IEC 61850 can be exchanged between applications of a common group which includes energy automation components of at least two substations. A first application of a particular group of applications transmits a message to second application(s) of the same group via the substation communication network and/or a public network. Tunnels that encapsulate GOOSE messages may be used to allow an overlay network for transmission of GOOSE messages via a public network without multicast support. The logical groupings of applications may therefore define separate, logical communication networks.

Method for transmitting messages in an energy automation network, energy automation component and substation

A fuel cell system comprises at least one fuel cell with a high-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane. The fuel cell is supplied with liquefied petroleum gas from a supply of liquefied petroleum gas. The liquefied petroleum gas can be directly fed into an anode reaction chamber of the fuel cell without complex reforming. Water vapor is admixed to the liquefied petroleum gas before it enters the anode reaction chamber.

Fuel cell system operated with liquid gas

A reformer fuel cell system having a plurality of components, that are a plurality of partial reformer systems forming a reformer for the generation of a hydrogen-rich gas and a fuel cell for the generation of electric current with use being made of the hydrogen-rich gas. A burner device is arranged outside of the reformer and the fuel cell is provided for the generation of a hot exhaust gas. An exhaust gas supply assembly supplies the exhaust gas to at least two of the components wherein the exhaust gas supply assembly defines the flow path of the exhaust gas such that the exhaust gas flows to and/or through the components according to the level of their particular operating temperature in descending temperature order. In this manner, it is easily possible to directly heat up the individual components to the level of their particular operating temperature in a selective manner.

Reformer fuel cell system with external burner

The aim of the invention is to improve a method for the primary control so that reserve power that is practically completely available for the effective frequency boost within seconds is available also in the stem turbine part of a gas/steam turbine installation. To this end, the pressure stage is operated with a control valve () that is throttled to such an extent that a frequency boost power reserve is built up. Said power reserve is used for frequency boosting in the event of an underfrequency by correcting the desired value depending on the underfrequency. Said corrected value corresponds to an effective area of the flow that is increased vis-&#xe2;-vis the throttled condition of the control valve () and acts on the effective area of flow of the control value () with an impressed signal that approaches zero after a predetermined time. Said signal is chosen in such a manner that, despite the correction of the desired value, a stable operative condition is maintained in accordance with the response behavior of the gas/steam turbine installation to the increased effective area of flow.

Method for the primary control in a combined gas/steam turbine installation

In a central timer unit (CTU), incoming stochastically occurring control information, for example dial pulse data, which is to be buffered for execution after individually assigned delay times, is stored in a random access memory (RAM). Address linkage information is written into the RAM, with each piece of received control data, and chains the incoming data to other received data which is to be read from the RAM at the same absolute (real) time. Each piece of control data is automatically retrieved from the RAM, and retransmitted elsewhere in the telecommunications system, after its specified and predetermined buffering time in the CTU. The pieces of buffered data are individually linked to the CTU's internal time base, which is developed by a clock generator coupled to ring counter driven, hierarchially arranged, time control units. Each of these sequentially arranged timer units also includes memory elements for storing the RAM addresses of buffered data items which will time-out in a particular cyclic period associated with that particular timer unit. The CTU further includes an internal control device, having an adder unit, which determines execution times for incoming data by combining delay time values and internal storage times. Bi-directional address linking is also taught, thereby facilitating cancellation of void pieces of buffered data, prior to their respective execution times, without disturbing non-cancelled data.
