Centralized process context and information context are provided for a computer system having an enterprise service architecture platform. The process context is a centrally accessible object storing and providing status data generated during performance of a process flow. The process context permits firm personnel to review performance of the process flow, for example, to determine its status and to identify any business exceptions that may have occurred therein. The information context caches information generated during performance of the process flow. It provides data on which to assess firm performance parameters, for example, time elapsed during performance of each process step and it provides a detailed set of information describing the process business activity. The process context and information context support higher-level monitoring functions. The process context and information context relieve operators from directly addressing a host of process-specific applications during performance of process flows.

The receiver device verifies the key and sends the verified key and financial data to the business intelligence system. The reconciliation device selects the data sets based on the keys and thereupon compares the financial data. If the comparison reveals the data sets as being proper matches, the financial data is considered reconciled and can then be cleared. If not, the non-reconciled data in the data set may be archived for later reconciliation operations at future time intervals or may be resubmitted to the sending device for reevaluation. An identification code is assigned to a business event having a data structure that is represented in the computer system. At least one set of input data, which is provided with a structure specific to a class of business events, is created from data concerning a business event. The at least one set of input data is transformed into a set of output data, which is accessible by at least two business applications. The set of output data is stored with the assigned identification code such that the set of output data can be fully or partly read by the at least two business applications by referring to the identification code.

A computer system is provided for modeling the structure of an enterprise comprising a first class of objects. An object of the class may represent an organizational unit of the enterprise. The class may comprise a method for assigning and/or deassigning to an object of the class at least one attribute from at least five types of attributes comprising: a first type describing a work to be performed by the unit; a second type describing a legal entity, which the unit represents; a third type describing a disciplinary or line management properties of the unit; a fourth type describing a financial responsibility of the unit; and a fifth type describing a location, which the unit represents. The system may further include means for assigning and/or deassigning to an object of said class at least one property depending on the assigned attribute.
