An automatic transmission, especially for a motor vehicle, having a plurality of torque transmission paths which can be selectively activated for torque transmission. The torque transmission paths have different transmission characteristics and, based on their transmission characteristics, can be ordered in a sequence of torque transmission paths has a clutch arrangement by which at least one of the torque transmission paths can be activated. It is provided that the clutch arrangement has a clutch unit which is associated with a group of torque transmission paths and by which a torque transmission path of a group of torque transmission paths can be selectively activated. A plurality of groups of torque transmission paths are provided, each group having only one individual torque transmission path, or a plurality of groups of torque transmission paths are provided, at least one group having a plurality of torque transmission paths, or a plurality of groups of torque transmission paths are provided, at least one group having an individual torque transmission path and at least one additional group having a plurality of torque transmission paths. At least one group of torque transmission paths, insofar as it includes a plurality of torque transmission paths, has only torque transmission paths which do not immediately follow one another in sequence.

Automatic transmission

A disengaging mechanism for a friction clutch which is arranged in a motor vehicle between an internal combustion engine and a transmission flanged to the internal combustion engine by a casing. The disengaging mechanism includes a guide pipe which is fastenable in the casing. A release bearing element is guided radially at the outer circumference of the guide pipe so as to be axially movable. The disengaging mechanism also includes a clutch lever which is to be articulated at the casing for transmitting clutch actuating forces. At least the guide pipe and the clutch lever are held together to form a constructional unit prior to installation in the motor vehicle. In the operation-ready state, the movement limiting components influence the movability of the disengaging mechanism. Assembly is facilitated by constructing the disengaging mechanism as a constructional unit, which can also contain the release bearing element.

Disengaging mechanism for a friction clutch

An actuator for automated operation of a friction clutch includes a drive that is connected with an input part of a gearing and an output part of the gearing that is movable into operative connection via a transmission member with a disengagement bearing of the friction clutch. The transmission element has a pitch region rotatable for driving an engagement element into force-applying contact with a disengagement bearing for displacing the disengaging bearing and thereby disengaging the clutch.

A motor vehicle clutch assembly has an actuator device. The clutch assembly is a friction clutch assembly. The actuator device moves linearly and is for engaging and disengaging the clutch. The actuator device is powered by a motor. The actuator device has a device for blocking the linear movement of the actuator device in a preferred position, thereby reducing work done by the motor.

For emergency operation of an automatic friction clutch (3) of a truck which is operated during normal running by an electronic controller (9) via an electric motor driven actuator (11) and a hydraulic system (19, 21, 23), it is proposed that the clutch be controlled manually via a compressed air actuator (29), in particular via a compressed air servo actuator, by means of a changeover valve (39) which connects the compressed air actuator (29) alternately to a compressed air source (37) or via a flow throttle (41) to the atmosphere.
