A method of filling a cartridge that includes a reaction chamber, a biochip mounted in the reaction chamber and a compensation chamber connected so as to communicate with the reaction chamber. The method includes placing a filling nozzle, which is connected so as to communicate with the reaction chamber, such that it is facing upwards, filling a liquid biological sample into the filling nozzle, pressing a stopper into the filling nozzle in order to force sample liquid into the reaction chamber, so that the reaction chamber is filled from bottom to top and an air bubble remains in the compensation chamber downstream of the reaction chamber.

Cartridge and device for analyzing biological samples using temperature-controlled biological reactions

The cartridge according to the invention for analysing biological samples comprises:

A device for photometric measurement of several samples () that are exposed to radiation from a light source () associated therewith. The light modified by the samples () is intercepted by an optical device () and is guided as a sum of all the light radiated from all samples () to at least one sensor () for measuring the intensity and evaluation thereof in an evaluation device () arranged downstream. The light sources () are controlled individually by a control device () and the evaluation device () and the control device () are controlled such that the evaluation device () separates the light from each sample () from the light of the other samples. The control device () modulates the light source () with various signals, which are pre-assigned to the evaluation device () and used to determine the light signals of the individual samples () from the sum signal received by the sensor ().

Device for photometric measurement of several samples

An apparatus for handling liquids and including a lighting installation for lighting an approximately punctiform illumination point in the room, an approximately punctiform light-receiving device having a photodetector for providing a measuring signal dependent on the intensity of the light received, an imaging system for imaging the illumination point onto the approximately punctiform light-receiving device, and an evaluation device for detecting the approaching of an interface between two media of different refractive indices to the illumination point by evaluating the measuring signals provided by the photodetector.

Apparatus for handling liquids and a process for operating the device

Optical measuring system for determining the concentration, particularly of turbid liquid samples, comprising a measuring volume for taking up the liquid samples to be measured, a plurality of several photometric channels, each comprising a light source and a light sensor on opposite sides of the sample volume aligned on a common optical axis, the optical axes thereof being disposed under different azimutal angles respective to the sample volume, and an analyzing device which evaluates the concentration of the liquid samples to be measured according to the data provided by the light sensors belonging to a plurality of different photometric channels.
