An adaptive x-ray filter for changing a local intensity of x-rays includes an x-ray absorbing first fluid and electrically deformable control elements. The electrically deformable control elements change a layer thickness of the first fluid at a site of a respective electrically deformable control element by at least partially displacing the x-ray absorbing first fluid.

An adaptive X-ray filter for varying a local intensity of X-ray radiation includes a first chamber containing a magnetorheological or electrorheological first liquid, a second chamber containing a second liquid that absorbs X-ray radiation, and a flexible membrane that separates the first chamber from the second chamber. Using the flexible membrane, a layer thickness ratio of the first liquid and the second liquid may be varied. A heating apparatus that heats the second liquid is arranged in the adaptive X-ray filter. The second liquid is a liquid metal.

A method and an apparatus for filtering radio-frequency electromagnetic beams, in particular x-rays, include a fluid container containing a ferrofluid which at least partially absorbs the electromagnetic beams. A distribution of the ferrofluid within the fluid container can be varied by using an applied magnetic gradient field. Adaptive X-ray filter and method for adaptive attenuation of X-ray radiation

An x-ray detector that is suitable for both imaging and dose rate measurement has a hybrid photoactive layer arranged between an electrode and a substrate. The hybrid photoactive layer includes a number of scintillators as well as a bulk heterojunction and is designed to produce indirect x-ray conversion. The bulk heterojunction absorbs the scintillator radiation to form electron-hole pairs that are detected electrically. The production takes place by a spraying process, in particular a co-spraying process of bulk heterojunction solution and scintillator particle suspension.

Hybrid organic photodiode

An imaging apparatus for irradiating an object includes a source arrangement, from which x-rays from different positions that form an at least one-dimensional structure may be emitted. The imaging apparatus also includes a detector arrangement for detecting the x-rays. An object is positioned between the source arrangement and the detector arrangement so that, with the detector arrangement, the x-rays attenuated by the object are recorded. The imaging apparatus also includes an evaluation apparatus for evaluating the signals recorded by the detector arrangement. A region of the detector arrangement is assigned to different positions of the structure, from which x-rays are directed at the region in partial irradiations. The region is aligned relative to the structure, such that the partial irradiations that are produced from the different positions of the structure with a region of the detector develop a radiation geometry that irradiates the object in a planar fashion.

Imaging apparatus

An x-ray converter element has an x-ray-permeable and moisture-impermeable substrate, an x-ray-permeable carrier that is connected to the substrate, and a scintillator that is applied on the substrate, and an optically-transparent and moisture-impermeable protective layer that covers the scintillator.

In a method for correcting pixels of an x-ray image data set, an x-ray exposure of a subject is acquired with an x-ray device that uses a storage film having a luminescent storage material layer serving as a radiation detector. The sensitivity of the luminescent storage material layer changes dependent on the accumulated x-ray radiation dose to which the storage layer has been exposed. After acquiring the x-ray exposure, the storage film is readout with a readout device and an x-ray image data set is generated that corresponds on a pixel-by-pixel basis with the x-ray exposure. Each pixel of the x-ray image data set is corrected with a correction value allocated to the corresponding pixel in the x-ray exposure, the correction value being adapted to the accumulated x-ray radiation dose to which the region of the storage film, containing the corresponding pixel, was exposed prior to acquiring the x-ray exposure.

A planar image detector for electromagnetic radiation has radiation-sensitive pixel elements arranged in a matrix that has a surface with active pixels for imaging and a surface with correction pixels, not exposed to the radiation for generating correction signals, and with contact surfaces next to the surfaces with the pixels. The surface with the correction pixels is arranged in a different plane from the surface with the active pixels and at one of the sides of the image detector with the contact surfaces of the active pixels.

X-ray diagnostic installation has a high-voltage generator for an X-ray tube for generating an X-ray beam, an X-ray image converter that has a scintillator layer and a semiconductor layer with light-sensitive pixel elements arranged in a matrix, and a combined back light/dose measuring unit arranged therebehind in the beam direction that is formed by an array of light-emitting diodes arranged in a matrix, as backside illumination, and light-sensitive sensors that acquire the X-ray dose, as sensors, and a measurement transducer for the control of the high-voltage generator connected thereto. Light waveguides are arranged in front of the light-sensitive sensors and between the light-emitting diodes, these light waveguides conducting the light that proceeds from the X-ray image converter during the irradiation and that is incident onto the combined back light/dose measuring unit onto the light-sensitive sensors.

An X-ray diagnostic apparatus has at least one beam transmitter which emits an X-ray beam acquired by at least one solid-state detector with image points arranged in the form of a matrix, and at least one correction unit that acquires the image signals, produced by the solid-state detector, of the current bright image exposure of a subject to be examined, and acquires the any afterglow signals which may be present from at least one dark image exposure. The correction unit controls the beam transmitter dependent on the presence of afterglow signals and/or the intensity of the afterglow signals, and, if necessary, corrects the image signals of the current bright image exposure.

X-ray diagnostic apparatus with control of x-ray emission dependent on

A medical diagnostic installation has an MR apparatus and an X-ray exposure apparatus and allows MR exposures and X-ray exposures to be simultaneously produced. A common patient support is provided, so that a patient can be simultaneously charged with magnetic fields and transirradiated by X-rays. The generation of the X-ray images ensues with a solid-state detector.

An X-ray detector includes a scintillation crystal and a photosensor which is easily manipulated, easily positionable, and easy to contact to the scintillation crystal. The photosensor is arranged on a thin lamina having electrical contact surfaces. The lamina presses laterally against the scintillation crystal such that the photosensor covers the scintillation crystal, and the contact surfaces of the lamina are connected to corresponding contact surfaces on the scintillation crystal, or on a scintillation carrier.

X-ray detector

A radiation detector has a number of detector elements disposed following each other in the direction of incoming radiation propagation. The radiation detector is integrally constructed of a semiconductor body having spaced surfaces disposed substantially parallel to the radiation propagation direction. One of the surfaces has a p-conductive region immediately therebelow, and the other surface has an n-conductive region immediately therebelow. At least one of the surfaces is sub-divided by a region extending transversely to the radiation propagation direction which has a lower conductivity than the adjacent regions. This section divides the semiconductor body into different detector elements.

Radiation detector

An x-ray detector system has a detector element disposed at the end of a channel formed by spaced collimator plates. The thickness of each collimator plate projected onto the detector element increases along the length of the collimator plates in the direction of radiation propagation through the channel. The projection (and thus the thickness) has a greatest value at a detector-proximate end of the plate. The edge regions of the detector element are thus shielded from x-radiation by the extended width collimator plates. The length of the absorption paths in the detector element thus are substantially the same, even given a detector element which is slightly obliquely disposed. Thus the shape of the portion of the detector surface effective for detecting radiation is substantially independent of slight changes in the focus position.
