A RF connector assembly, suitable for millimeter waves comprises a housing, holding a transmission line and a RF connector. The transmission line has a band conductor held in an outer conductor. The band conductor is supported by a plurality of holding pins. The holding pins are fixed by holes in the outer conductor and penetrate the inner conductor through holes therein. The holding pins are injection molded parts made of plastic. They comprise of two sections which can be connected together by a plug and socket connection. One end of the transmission line has a printed circuit board contact for contacting a strip line, while the other end of the transmission line has a contact for connecting the inner conductor of the RF connector.

An arrangement for calibrating a vector network analyzer (VNA) is substantially secure against operating errors and offers cost-effective calibration by connecting calibration components. Each calibration component includes a transponder and a non-volatile memory which contains, as non-changeable data, at least the type of the component and an individual identification number and, as changeable data, at least the number of calibration processes performed with this calibration component. The VNA includes a wireless interface for reading at least the non-changeable data of a respective calibration component and for incrementing the stored number of the calibration processes performed with this calibration component.

Arrangement for calibrating a vector network analyzer

A coaxial high-frequency cable is described which having an inner conductor ( ), a dielectric spacer ( ) surrounding the inner conductor ( ), and a tubular outer conductor ( ) which is applied over the dielectric ( ) and which is concentric with the inner conductor ( ). To ensure operability in the event of a fire, the spacer is constructed from a combination of an insulating thermoplastic material and a mineral material.

Coaxial high-frequency cable

An apparatus for processing the ends of a coaxial high frequency cable, which has a tubular inner conductor, a dielectric enclosing the same, a tubular outer conductor arranged over the same concentrically to the inner conductor, and a sheath of insulation material enclosing the outer conductor. The apparatus includes a pot-like device (,) with a cylindrical hollow space (,) the diameter (D,) of which at the input area corresponds to the diameter of the high-frequency cable including the sheath. Within the device (,), at the end of the input area, at least one sheath knife (,) for cutting the sheath is arranged, the blade of which projects into the hollow space (,). The diameter (D,) of the hollow space (,) behind the input area corresponds to the outside diameter of the outer conductor of the high frequency cable. At the closed end of the device (,), at least one knife (,) is arranged whose blade for cutting the outer conductor, the dielectric, and the inner conductor of the high frequency cable projects into the hollow space (,). In the center within the hollow space (,), extending along its axial direction, a cylindrical pin (,) whose outside diameter corresponds to the inside diameter of the hollow inner conductor of the high frequency cable is rotatably supported.

Apparatus for processing the end of a coaxial high frequency cable

A polarizer for two different frequency bands is described for exciting an antenna with a parabolic reflector. The polarizer has a waveguide section capable of carrying in each frequency band two mutually perpendicularly linearly polarized waves. For each frequency band, two waveguides having a rectangular cross-section are connected to the waveguide section separate from each other and mutually offset in the axial direction of the waveguide section. A respective waveguide is connected directly to the waveguide section for each polarization direction of the lower frequency band, whereas for the upper frequency band&mdash;from a connecting point (,) on&mdash;each of the two waveguides is subdivided into two branches (,) with each having identical rectangular cross-section. The respective branches terminate on the waveguide section at mutually opposing locations which are circumferentially offset relative to each other by 90&deg; for the two polarization directions. To simplify the portion designated for the upper frequency band, the wider flat sides of the two branches (,) abut each other at each of the connecting points (,) in such a way that the front faces of the branches are aligned with each other for connection to the respective waveguide (,). In addition, one of the branches (,) of the two different polarization directions is twisted along its path about an angle of 180&deg;.

Polarizer for two different frequency bands

A polarizer for two different frequency bands for exciting an antenna with a parabolic reflector has a waveguide section capable of carrying in each frequency band two mutually perpendicularly linearly polarized waves. For each frequency band, there are connected to the waveguide section, separate from each other and mutually offset in the axial direction of the waveguide section, two waveguides having a rectangular cross-section. For the lower frequency band, for each polarization direction, a respective waveguide is connected directly to the waveguide section. For the higher frequency band, starting at a connecting point, each of the two waveguides is subdivided into two waveguide branches with identical rectangular cross-sections, with the branches terminating at two opposing locations of the waveguide section. The locations, where the branches for the two different polarization directions terminate on the waveguide section, are circumferentially offset relative to each other by 90.degree.. A metal pin is located in each of the flat waveguide branches in a respective aperture thereof.
