A rivet stud has a rivet body with an elongated shank, a flange, and an axial bore in which is located a tension mandrel, which has a mandrel shank with a drawing end projecting out of a head end of the rivet body that is separable from the mandrel shank at a predetermined breaking point and which has a mandrel head that is supported on a foot end of the rivet body. The mandrel shank is provided with locking means that secure it in the rivet body after setting of the rivet stud, and the predetermined breaking point is located such that the breaking point lies inside the bore of the rivet body after setting of the rivet stud. Located on the mandrel head is a mounting stud that projects from the mandrel head on the side opposite the mandrel shank.

Rivet stud

A blind rivet having a hollow rivet body made of plastic, an elongated shank with a bore, a head at one end of the shank and a foot end on the opposite end of the shank, and having, in the bore, a mandrel that has a mandrel shank with a drawing end and a mandrel head that acts on the foot end, the shank has a first region located between the head and the foot end, and has a second region with reduced cross-section and reduced wall thickness as compared to the first region. The regions arranged such that, as a result of a process in which the head is pressed against one side of a workpiece and the foot end is simultaneously drawn toward the other side of the workpiece with the aid of the mandrel, the wall of the shank forms a roll fold with an annular bead.

Blind rivet with a plastic rivet body

A blind rivet made of plastic, the shank of the body has a first region located between the head and the foot end, and the first region has a reduced first wall thickness. Within the first region is located a second region with a second wall thickness further reduced as compared to the first region. The first and second regions are arranged such that, as a result of the rivet setting process, the wall of the shank forms a roll fold with an annular bead that is pressed axially against the blind side of the workpiece.

A method for production of a joining component, the method comprising the steps of providing a metal section which is inductively heatable and defines an axial through aperture; and coating the metal element with a thermoplastic material by a single-component injection-molding of a base body of the joining component around the metal section so that the base body includes: a holding section formed as a cylindrical shaft and a flange, the flange including a first and second sides, and an inner side of the metal section is joined to the flange and an exposed outer side of the metal section faces away from the flange; and a the second side of the flange is axially recessed within the aperture; and a joining surface is comprised of the outer side of the metal section and a portion of the second side of the flange radially outward of the metal section.

Joining component and method for production of a joining component

A joining component, for axial joining to a workpiece, comprises a base body composed of thermoplastic material and including a holding section and a flange section, with a joining surface including both a portion of the flange section and a metal section which can be heated inductively. The metal section is in this case integrated in the flange section.

Joining component

The invention relates to a method for axial joining of a hybrid joining component to a workpiece, wherein the joining component has a thermoplastic joining section and a metal section which can be heated, having the following steps: moving the joining component into contact with a surface of the workpiece; heating of the metal section such that the joining section at least partially melts; ending the heating of the metal section such that the joining component makes a force-fitting, interlocking and/or integral connection with the surface of the workpiece. In this case, the joining component is held with a regulated force and/or in a regulated position with respect to the workpiece at least during the heating of the metal section, in such a manner that the joining component can be joined to the surface of the workpiece without any opposing support.

Joining method

A synthetic material clamp includes a band bent ring-shaped, having band ends with toothed coupling sections together forming a latching coupling. Each coupling section has a first latching element with a latching tooth directed toward a band inner side and a second latching element with a latching tooth directed toward a band outer side. The latching elements are arranged on the coupling sections so the first latching element of a coupling section engages upon closing of the latching coupling. The first and second latching elements are located on opposite sides of a plane centrally dividing the band in a longitudinal direction. The latching elements of both coupling sections include on a side facing the plane a supporting surface arranged when the latching coupling is closed, with the supporting surfaces of one of the latching elements engaging the supporting surfaces of the latching elements of the other coupling section.

Plastic clamp

A fastener including a body that has, extending along a center axis, an opening with an insertion end for inserting a stud. The fastener further includes a detent pawl that is attached to a first inner wall of the opening and extends toward the center axis. A yoke is attached to a second inner wall of the opening and spaced axially apart from the detent pawl. The yoke projects into the opening and, together with the second inner wall, forms a yoke opening into which the stud can be inserted during installation.
