A turbomachinery according to an embodiment includes an impeller including at least one blade, and a casing for housing the impeller rotatably. A size of a gap between a tip of the blade and an inner surface of the casing during a stop of the impeller is formed non-uniformly over a circumferential direction of the impeller.

Asymmetric turbomachinery housing for thermal expansion

A diffuser includes a connection section and a body section. The connection section extends from an outlet of turbine rotor blades. The body section is connected to an end of the connection section on a downstream side and has a larger flow passage sectional area than the connection section. The shape of the flow passage sectional surface of the connection section is formed into a circle at an outlet of the turbine rotor blades and is formed into an ellipse at an inlet of the body section. The shape of the flow passage sectional surface of the connection section is further formed to be gradually enlarged in a long-axis direction of the ellipse from the outlet of the turbine rotor blades toward the inlet of the body section.

Diffuser and turbocharger

A compressor housing accommodating a compressor wheel for compressing intake air supplied to an engine has therein an outer cooling passage extending along a circumferential direction on an outer circumferential side of a scroll passage of a spiral shape through which the intake air compressed by the compressor wheel flows, and an inner cooling passage extending along the circumferential direction on an inner circumferential side of the scroll passage. The inner cooling passage is separated from the outer cooling passage by a separation wall extending along the circumferential direction.
