The present invention pertains to a secondary battery comprising at least one separator, said separator comprising at least one fluorinated polymer [polymer (F)], said polymer (F) comprising recurring units derived from vinylidene fluoride (VDF), hexafluoropropylene (HFP) and at least one (meth)acrylic monomer (MA) having formula (I) here below, wherein: &#x2014;R, Rand R, equal to or different from each other, are independently selected from a hydrogen atom and a C-Chydrocarbon group, and &#x2014;Ris a C-Chydrocarbon moiety comprising at least one hydroxyl group. 

Secondary batteries

The present invention pertains to a process for the manufacture of a porous membrane, said process comprising the following steps: (i) providing a composition [composition (F)] comprising: &#x2014;at least one fluoropolymer [polymer (F)] comprising recurring units derived from at least one (meth)acrylic monomer (MA) having formula (I) wherein: &#x2014;R, Rand R, equal to or different from each other, are independently selected from a hydrogen atom and a C-Chydrocarbon group, and &#x2014;Ris a hydrogen atom or a C-Chydrocarbon moiety comprising at least one functional group selected from a hydroxyl, a carboxyl, an epoxide, an ester and an ether group, and &#x2014;at least one poly(alkylene oxide) (PAO); (ii) processing said composition (F) to provide a film; (iii) treating the film so obtained with an aqueous composition to provide said porous membrane. The present invention also relates to films and compositions used in said process, to porous membranes obtained from said process and to use of said porous membranes as separators in Lithium-ion batteries, as filtration membranes or in biomedical applications. 

Process for manufacturing porous membranes

A process for lining a metal pipeline, which process generally utilizes thermoplastic fluoropolymer pipe liner Also, a pipeline system that includes at least two coaxial pipes, an outer metal pipe and inner thermoplastic fluoropolymer pipe. The thermoplastic fluoropolymer pipe/pipe liner is made from a composition that generally includes from 10% to 60% by weight of at least one vinylidene fluoride (VDF) homopolymer, from 40% to 90% by weight of at least one VDF copolymer comprising from 2% to 15% by moles of recurring units derived from at least one other fluorinated comonomer (F), and optionally at least one plasticizer.

Process for lining metal pipelines

A fluoropolymer composition having a total luminous transmittance (TT) of less than 15%, when measured according to ASTM D1003 on a sample having a thickness of about 50 &#x3bc;m, said composition comprising: at least one hydrogen-containing fluoropolymer [polymer (A)]; from 5 to 80% by weight of (A) of at least one inorganic pigment [pigment (I)]; and from 1 to 99% by weight of (I) of at least one per(halo)fluoropolymer chosen among tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) copolymers having a dynamic viscosity at a shear rate of 1 rad&#xd7;secof less than 100 Pa&#xd7;sec at a temperature of 280&#xb0; C. [polymer (B)]. By adding polymer (B) to the composition based on polymer (A) it is advantageously possible to obtain an even dispersion of the pigment (I) so that a composition possessing outstanding opacity and still being processable under the form of films, so as to provide adequate mechanical properties, can be manufactured therefrom.
