A tethering method includes providing a tether clamp with a mouth portion and a throat portion, where the tether clamp is operable between an open position and a closed position; providing a wearable garment made of pliant material; providing a clamping body sized to pass through the mouth portion and remain disposed in the throat portion of the tether clamp when in the closed position; folding the pliant material of the wearable garment over the clamping body; installing the clamping body with folded material into the throat portion of the tether clamp with the clamping body extending axially through the throat portion and the folded material extending out through the mouth portion; and closing the tether clamp to capture the clamping body with folded material in the throat portion and engage at least two plies of the pliant material in the mouth portion.

A pack system adapted for carrying hand tools includes a tool-carrying container constructed to be worn on a user's person and having a bottom portion, a first shell portion, a second shell portion defining and enclosing a main storage compartment. A releasable closure is connected between the first and second shell portions. At least one tool panel is removably disposed within the main storage compartment and has one or more tool receivers each constructed to retain a hand tool. A panel-retaining structure between the tool panel(s) and the bottom portion of the pack releasably retains the tool panel(s) in the main storage compartment.

A hand tool with a lanyard attachment point has a hand tool body and a working side extending along a portion of the hand tool body and has a straight edge. A pin receiving recess in the hand tool body is parallel to and spaced from the straight edge. A channel extends into the working side transverse to the straight edge and intersects the pin receiving recess. A lanyard loop has an elongated, rigid loop body with a lanyard attaching loop end and a tool attaching end opposite the lanyard attaching loop end. The tool attaching end has a through opening transverse to the loop body where the tool attaching end is disposed in the first channel with the through opening aligned with the pin receiving recess. An anchor pin in the pin receiving recess retains the lanyard loop by extending through the through opening of the tool attaching end.

A lighting apparatus for use in a tool carrier includes a conduit made of a translucent material. The conduit defines a conduit path sized to extend along a perimeter of a tool carrier floor. Light sources are disposed in the conduit and are electrically connected to a power source retained by the tool carrier. The lighting apparatus provides light to the inside of the tool carrier.

A hand-tool retractor cover includes a body portion and a handle portion attached to and extending from the body portion. The body portion has a first-side wall, a second-side wall spaced apart from and substantially parallel to the first-side wall, and a perimeter wall extending transversely between and connecting the first-side wall to the second-side wall. The body portion defines a retractor compartment between the first-side wall, the second-side wall, and the perimeter wall. The body portion also defines an entrance into the retractor compartment and a retractor cable opening. The handle portion defines a handle opening and is made of a stretchable and resilient material. The stretchable and resilient material is adapted to increase a weight rating of a hand tool retractor when a hand tool retractor is placed within the hand tool retractor cover.

A socket release assembly for a ratchet drive or ratchet wrench that includes a ratchet gear housing, a ratchet head connected to the ratchet gear housing, a push button disposed within the ratchet gear housing and the ratchet head with a portion extending through an opening in the ratchet gear housing, a channel lock disposed within the ratchet gear housing above the ratchet head, a ball lock disposed within the ratchet head and in mating contact with the push button, a ball bearing disposed within the ratchet head between the ball lock and a ball bearing opening in the ratchet head, a release pin within the ball lock and in mating contact with the channel lock where sliding of the release pin causes the channel lock to be slidably positioned allowing the push button to be depressed into ratchet gear housing.

A pouch for a tablet computer includes a first panel and a second panel attached to the first panel along a lower pouch end, where the pouch is operable between open and closed pouch positions. In the closed pouch position the second panel aligns with the first panel and defines a pouch compartment sized to hold a tablet computer. A closure is installed between the first panel and the second panel. A quantity of padding is disposed on an inside face of the first panel and defines a retractor recess. A retractor pocket is defined within the retractor recess and has a retractor cable opening. A retractor is disposed in the retractor pocket and has a retractor cable operable through the retractor cable opening between a retracted position and an extended position. A connector on the distal cable end is constructed for attachment to the tablet computer.

A cable tie flotation device for making a cable tie buoyant having a volume of resilient, easily deformable material having an opening therethrough and a fastening means. The deformable material has a specific gravity less than one and is of sufficient quantity to keep the cable tie afloat in a liquid medium. The fastening means includes an opposed resilient force created by the deformation of the opening the material by a cable tie passing therethrough such that the deformable material is maintained in connective relationship about the cable tie by the opposed force of the resilient deformable material as it attempts to return to its original shape.
