Systems and methods described herein may relate to power inlet reconfiguration of an integrated circuit device. In an embodiment, an add in card includes an integrated circuit including programmable logic circuitry. The add in card also includes any number of voltage regulators configured to supply power to the integrated circuit and a controller. The controller configures the programmable logic circuitry based on a configuration profile, determine a power level associated with the configuration profile, and adjust the plurality of voltage regulators and load switches based on the power level.

Reconfigurable inlet power feed and integrated circuit power

The present disclosure relates to a circuit board that includes a first edge connector configured to communicatively couple the circuit board to a first connector of a second circuit board. The first edge connector extends from a side of the circuit board a first length. The circuit board also includes a second edge connector configured to communicatively couple the circuit board to a second connector of the second circuit board. The second edge connector extends from the side of the circuit board a second length that is different than the first length.

Particular embodiments described herein provide for an electronic device that can be configured to enable a modular printed circuit board separation tool. The separation tool can include a main body and a plurality of separation blades that extend from the main body. Each of the plurality of separation blades can be tapered and configured to fit between connections of a testing housing and a power and signal supply housing and when pressure is applied to the main body, the separation blades slide between the connections of the testing housing and the power and signal supply housing and separate the testing housing and the power and signal supply housing.

Various embodiments are directed to restrictions in portable computing device electric power to accommodate reductions in the voltage level of a power source. An apparatus comprises a controller caused to receive configuration data from a main processor circuit specifying a voltage level threshold and selected action to take to reduce electric power to a first component in response to the voltage level falling below the first voltage level threshold, recurringly monitor the voltage level; based on the voltage level falling below the first voltage level threshold, take the first selected action and transmit a signal to the main processor circuit indicating that the voltage level has fallen below the first voltage level threshold and that the first selected action has been taken; transmit the voltage level to the main processor circuit; receive a signal from the main processor circuit to undo the first selected action; and so undo.

Staged power distribution control

Methods and apparatuses relating to resolving roles for dual role serial bus devices are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a serial bus receptacle to receive a serial bus plug of a device, a power supply electrically coupled to the serial bus receptacle, a multiple role toggling circuit to toggle the power supply between a power source role and a power sink role, wherein the device comprises a second power supply to toggle between a power source role and a power sink role, and a randomizer circuit to cause a plurality of different, toggling duty cycles and/or a plurality of different, toggling frequencies to be applied to the multiple role toggling circuit.

Apparatuses to resolve roles for dual role serial bus devices

Techniques for power regulation in a system, method, and apparatus are described herein. An apparatus for voltage regulation in a wireless power receiver may include a power switch to selectively supply a regulated voltage to a battery at a regulated current. The apparatus may also include load modulation logic to generate load modulation signaling by toggling the power switch.

Power regulation in wireless charging

An electronic device may include a power driver to receive power and to selectively provide power, and a plurality of power transfer contacts to receive power from the power driver and to provide power to an external device. A controller may control the power driver to provide power to the plurality of power transfer contacts based on a plurality of time periods having a frequency shifted such that a length of a second one of the time periods is different than a length of a first one of the time periods. The controller may control the power driver to disconnect power from the power driver to the power transfer contacts during a plurality of test time durations. The controller may obtain data during the plurality of test time durations.

Power transmitting device having wire-free power transfer safety detection

Techniques for powering up a wireless power receiving device are described herein. An example computing device includes a power receiving unit to wirelessly receive power from a power transmitting unit. The platform hardware includes a System on a Chip (SoC), a multicomm device, and a power sequence manager. The multicomm device is for wireless communication with two or more communication standards. One of the communication standards is used as a side channel for communicating with the power transmitting unit. The power sequence manager component manages activation of platform components of the platform hardware during a low battery cold boot condition. Upon detecting wireless power, the multicomm device is configured to automatically activate and the power sequence manager component is to suppress activation of other platform components of the platform hardware.

A power control manager includes a processor to compute available power from a power source and a comparator to compare the available power to an amount of power to concurrently operate a plurality of sub-systems of an electronic device at full or a predetermined power. The processor generates one or more control signals in response to a decision signal output from the comparator. The control signals may indicate that a maximum power setting is to be set for a first sub-system and a reduced non-zero power setting is to be set for a second sub-system of the plurality of sub-systems. The sub-systems may be different sub-systems of a smartphone or another electronic device.
