Systems and method for displaying two navigation bars to navigate a video asset, where the first navigation bar provides navigation to a predetermined point and the second navigation bar allows a frame-by-frame navigation are described. The methods determine the time span, coverage of scene and chapters, and display formats of the second navigation bar. The time span of the second navigation bar may be configured to include frames of a desired scene or chapter such that the initial frame and the last frame of the scene are included for frame-by-frame navigation. The time span may also cover scene or chapter that are non-consecutive to the current play position such that multiple non-consecutive chapters can be navigated within the same second navigation bar. Functionality that includes annotating, editing, transmitting, on a per frame level is provided through the second navigation bar.

Systems and methods are provided for dynamically adjusting a personal boundary of an avatar in an XR environment. The system identifies a first avatar in an extended reality (XR) environment based on rule data stored in a storage. In response to the system detecting that the first avatar has entered a portion of the XR environment at a communicable distance from a second avatar, the system does the following steps. The system determines an offensiveness rating of the first avatar. The system retrieves, from the storage, an offensiveness tolerance of the second avatar. The system compares the offensiveness rating of the first avatar and offensiveness tolerance of the second avatar. In response to determining, based on the comparing, that the offensiveness rating of the first avatar exceeds the offensiveness tolerance of the second avatar, the system automatically censors one or more messages from the first avatar to the second avatar.

Dynamically adjusting a personal boundary of an avatar in an XR environment

Systems and methods are described for modifying a media guidance application. Such systems and methods may aid a user in selecting media content for viewing which may be of particular interest to them. Such systems and methods may receive programming information from one or more program guide sources, generate a media guidance application for display based upon the received programming information, receive behavior information from at least one further source, and generate parameters for modifying the media guidance application in response to the behavior information. The systems and methods may then modify the media guidance application based upon the generated parameters and display the modified media guidance application.

Systems and methods are provided for enabling the protection of user privacy when adding a virtual assistant to a conference. A conference is initiated between a first computing device and at least a second computing device and a virtual assistant is added to the conference. A query is received at the virtual assistant and based on the query and the guest mode, an action is identified. The identified action is performed via the virtual assistant.

Systems and methods for replaying a portion of a content item based on the user's language proficiency level in a secondary language is disclosed. The system accesses a user profile comprising a user's proficiency level in at least one secondary language, the secondary language being their non-native language. A command to replay a first portion of a content item is received and, in response to receiving the replay command, the system generates for display the first portion of the content item at a level below the user's proficiency level in the secondary language.

Systems and methods for summarizing captions, configuring playback speed, and rewriting the caption file for a media asset are disclosed. The system determines whether to display the original captions or a summarized version of the captions, which are based on user's language proficiency level, reading pace, and historical data, and can be generated either on-demand or automatically when rewinds and pauses are detected. The caption file which includes the original captions can be rewritten. The system determines whether to stream a caption or a rewritten file to a media device based on user or system selections. In the absence of a caption file, or when the caption file cannot be summarized, the playback speed of the media asset is slowed down to provide additional reading time to the user.

A translation application running on a device receives a content item comprising a video and an audio, wherein the audio comprises a first plurality of spoken words in a first language. The video comprises a character speaking the first plurality of spoken words in the first language. The translation application translates the first plurality of spoken words of the first language into a first sign of a first sign language. The translation application determines an emotional state expressed by the character based on sentiment analysis. The translation application generates an avatar that speaks the first sign of the first sign language where the avatar exhibits the determined emotional state. The content item and the avatar are presented for display on the device.

Systems and methods are provided for enabling virtual assistant interaction during a conference. A conference is initiated between a first computing device and at least a second computing device, and audio input is received at an audio input device, wherein the audio input is received during the conference and the audio input device is in communication with the first computing device. The audio input is transmitted to the second computing device, and a command for activating a virtual assistant is identified in the audio input. In response to identifying a command, the virtual assistant is activated, and the transmission of the audio input to at least the second computing device is automatically stopped. A query is received at the audio input device, and an action, based on the query, is performed via the virtual assistant.
