An apparatus includes a processor that detects a plurality of video coded network abstraction layer ('NAL') units of a video coded stream, extracts semantic information associated with the plurality of the NAL units, combines the extracted semantic information associated with the plurality of NAL units to form a plurality of feature sets that is correspondingly synchronized with the plurality of NAL units that enclose the extracted semantic information, determines an information-to-importance value for each of the plurality of NAL units based on the plurality of feature sets without performing video decoding of the video coded stream, and indicates the determined information-to-importance value for each of the plurality of NAL units of the determined video codec specification to a video coded traffic-aware transceiver for scheduling video traffic based on the indicated information-to-importance value.

Video codec importance indication and radio access network awareness configuration

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for determining a precoder for wireless communications. An apparatus is configured to determine a precoder for a set of modulation symbols representing at least two distinct multiplexed streams of information. The precoder includes a plurality of codewords and is configured to reduce an ensemble interference and a pairwise interference for the plurality of codewords. The apparatus is configured to precode the set of modulation symbols based on the precoder and map the precoded set of modulation symbols to a set of resources. The apparatus is configured to generate a non-orthogonal multiplexed channel for access to the resources by overloading the set of modulation symbols at a transmission rate that is greater than a Nyquist rate and transmit an indication of the precoder and the set of resources.

Determining a precoder for wireless communications

An apparatus includes a memory and a processor coupled to the memory that is configured to cause the apparatus to detect a video coded traffic stream and a video codec profile for encoding the video coded traffic stream, determine an awareness of PDU sets of the video coded traffic stream, align, based on at least the awareness of PDU sets, each PDU set of the video coded traffic stream to PHY transport elements and channel coding element partitions for a video coded traffic aware PHY transport, determine a channel coding rate allocation of the channel coding element partitions based on the video coded traffic aware PHY transport, and apply a FEC coding to the channel coding element partitions based in part on the channel coding rate allocation.

The memory includes instructions that are executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to precode a set of symbols over a set of resources using a transform precoder that constrains a search space of codewords to a unit hypersphere such that the transform precoder comprises a spherical codebook having an angular threshold distance between codewords and to combine the precoded symbols in a redundant manner such that multiple parts of precoded symbols are used to protect against loss of the set of symbols.
