A filter circuit includes a pass band filter portion configured to pass signals in a first frequency spectrum and attenuate or block signals in a second frequency spectrum. The first frequency spectrum and the second frequency spectrum do not overlap. The pass band filter portion is configured to cause a return loss of more than 10 decibels (dB) in the first frequency spectrum.

Filter circuit

A noise mitigation device includes a signal processing unit positioned within a signal path. The signal processing unit is configured to determine a power level of the signal path at a first time and a second time. The signal processing unit is also configured to determine a dynamic noise threshold based on the power level at the first time and at the second time. The signal processing unit is also configured to store the dynamic noise threshold for a predetermined time period that is longer than a time between the first time and the second time. The signal processing unit is also configured to actuate a switch in the signal path into a first state when the power level exceeds the dynamic noise threshold. The signal processing unit is also configured to actuate a switch in the signal path into a second state when the power level does not exceed the dynamic noise threshold.

Dynamic noise mitigation device

A filter circuit includes a pass band filter and a multipath interference mitigation leg. The pass band filter is disposed along a signal path between a provider-side port and a user-side port. The pass band filter is configured to pass a provider bandwidth signal received at the provider-side port and block at least a portion of a home network bandwidth signal received at the user-side port. A frequency spectrum of the home network bandwidth signal is distinct from, and higher than, a frequency spectrum of the provider bandwidth signal. The multipath interference mitigation leg is operatively branched to ground from the signal path. The multipath interference mitigation leg is configured to increase a return loss in the home network bandwidth signal.

The present disclosure provides methods and systems for mitigating signal noise. In implementations, the systems and methods perform operations including continuously determining an instantaneous power of a signal path. The operations also include determining a dynamic noise threshold by sampling the instantaneous power at different times and selecting a minimum of the instantaneous power sampled during the different times. The operations further include determining that the instantaneous power is less than the dynamic noise threshold. Additionally, the operations include blocking communication from the signal path. Further, the operations include iteratively updating the dynamic noise threshold.

A filter circuit is provided having multipath interference mitigation. The filter includes a signal path extending from an input to an output. The signal path includes a conductive path and a ground. A pass band filter is disposed along the signal path between the input and the output. The pass band filter passes a first frequency spectrum in a provider bandwidth, and attenuates a second frequency spectrum in a home network bandwidth. The filter circuit further includes a multipath interference mitigation leg operatively branched from the signal path. The multipath interference mitigation leg increases a return loss of the home network bandwidth. A frequency response of the filter circuit is characterized by an insertion loss characteristic between the input and the output being less than 3 dB in the provider bandwidth, and more than 20 dB in the home network bandwidth.

Multipath mitigation circuit for home network

A passive neutral fault current detection device fastened to cable television equipment detects the presence of a neutral fault within a subscriber's premises when the outer conductor of the coaxial cable is electrically bonded to the neutral conductor of the premises electrical service ground. In one example, the passive neutral fault current detection device employs a transformer circuit. The braided outer conductor of the coax cable acts as the primary coil of the transformer, and windings surrounding the coax cable act as a secondary coil. The windings are connected to an alert device to complete the circuit. As alternating current from a neutral fault flows through the braided sheath, a varying magnetic field is generated and impinges upon the secondary winding, which induces a varying voltage in the secondary winding. The voltage can drive the alert device which, in one embodiment, is a light emitting diode (LED).

Neutral fault current detection device

A connector assembly and method including a post, a port body, a post engager, an actuator and a spring assembly. The post engager is configured to engage the post in a first operating mode while the actuator is configured to release the post engager from the post in a second operating mode. The spring assembly is operably coupled to the post engager and is configured to axially bias the post against the port body during the first operating mode to facilitate an electrical ground path between the port body and the post.

An upstream bandwidth conditioning device is provided that can be inserted into a signal transmission line of a CATV system on a premise of a user. The device includes a tunable low pass filter, a tunable high pass filter connected in series with the tunable low pass filter, and at least one voltage control unit. The voltage control unit is configured to adjust each of the tunable low pass filter and the tunable high pass filter between at least a first intermediate frequency range having a first width and a second intermediate frequency range having a second width. The first width differs in size from the second width.

An upstream bandwidth conditioning premise device for use as part of a CATV system and for placement on or near a user's premise to reduce noise created on the user's premise that would otherwise be injected into upstream transmission channels and passed into an RF main signal distribution system of the CATV system. The device includes a variable attenuation device, a signal measurement circuit, a memory circuit and an electronic circuit, which is configured to iteratively determine (i) whether an incremental amount of additional attenuation is to be applied and (ii) whether at least a portion of a previously applied incremental amount of attenuation is to be removed. The electronic circuit includes a counting circuit, a threshold comparison circuit configured to compare a peak signal strength to a predetermined threshold, and a peak comparison circuit configured to compare a contemporary peak signal strength to a previous peak signal strength.

A splitter device includes a first splitter comprising an input leg coupled to a provider content input port, a first output leg, and a second output leg. The provider content input port is configured to receive a downstream-propagating provider bandwidth. The splitter device further includes a first conductive path coupled to the first output leg of the first splitter, and a second conductive path coupled to the second output leg of the first splitter. The splitter device further includes a second splitter having an input leg coupled to a first home network bandwidth, a first output leg coupled to the first conductive path, and a second output leg. The splitter device further includes a third splitter having an input leg coupled to a second home network bandwidth, a first output leg coupled to the second conductive path, and a second output leg. The splitter device further includes a bridge circuit operatively coupled between the first conductive path and the second conductive path. The bridge circuit is configured to propagate a home network bandwidth from the first user port to the second user port and isolate the provider bandwidth from the home network bandwidth.
