In a method for cold gas spraying a layer, coating particles are accelerated in a cold spraying nozzle. The particles have a plastic encapsulation. In said manner, the plastic is precipitated onto the substrate together with the metal material, thereby forming in particular layer compositions having good sliding properties, dirt repellent properties, or lubricating properties. The coating can be used as a bearing component of a sliding bearing, as a flow component, in particular as a rotor blade of wind power plants or body components of transportation vehicle, or as trim components of structures.

A ceramic layer is fabricated on a substrate by coating the substrate with a material containing chemical precursors of a ceramic. The precursors are transformed by a heat treatment into the ceramic to be fabricated. Different methods for heat insertion may be used for individual layers by absorbing particles, which are utilized in different concentrations or different chemical compositions. A targeted heat insertion even in lower layer regions, for example, by microwave animation, or ultraviolet or infrared light insertion is therefore possible. Beneficially, as a result, comparatively thick layers in particular can be fabricated by a single heat treatment layer.

Method for fabricating a layer with absorbing particles for an energy radiation

A method generates an abrasive wear-resistant layer on a substrate. The layer is formed of particles of a ductile material, in particular Zn, wherein the parameters of the cold spraying process are set such that a comparatively loose laminate having pores is formed by the spray particles. The laminate advantageously and surprisingly exhibits high resistance to abrasive wear (for example by a particle) because the layer can avoid the attack by the particle by plastic deformation and closure of the pores, whereby abrasive removal of the layer is advantageously low. The cold gas-sprayed layer is used as a protective layer against abrasive wear.

In an analysis device and a method for testing the catalytic activity of surfaces, a reaction cell is provided that has a recess for a sample that is provided with the catalytic surface. In the analysis device, an optical test of the reaction occurring in the reaction cell may occur. The reaction cell has a closed channel that is part of a fluid circuit. The reaction cell may be advantageously designed in a very space-saving manner in its scale, such that a portable use of the analysis cell is possible as well. Here, a simple measurement process of the absorption capacity of the sample fluid located in the reaction cell is conducted. To this end, a laser diode is provided, the measurement stream of which is directed into the reaction cell and reflected multiple times. The light intensity is measured by means of a photodetector.

In a method for the cold-gas spraying of particles having different solidities and/or ductilities and in a cold-gas spraying device () suitable for use in with the method, in order to obtain a comparatively high proportion of particles () having higher solidity and/or smaller ductility in comparison to the other particles (), these particles are fed into an area () of the stagnation chamber () of the cold-gas spraying device which is very distant from the nozzle (). Advantageously, the particles () have to cover a longer course through the stagnation chamber and are thus preheated. In this way, the deposition of these particles () on a substrate () is improved. Particularly metals having a transition temperature ranging between brittle and ductile behavior can be provided with ductile properties by the preheating process, thereby simplifying the deposition process.

Method and device for the cold-gas spraying of particles having different solidities and/or ductilities

A powder can be produced by immersing microparticles () in a first solution () which contains coupling molecules (), and then in a second solution () which contains the nanoparticles (), thereby producing microparticles () with nanoparticles () attached thereto. The particles form powder particles () which allow nanoparticles () that are smaller than approximately 5 [mu] to be applied to a component by cold gas spraying.

The invention relates to a cold gas spraying method with the aid of which a substrate to be coated can be coated with particles. According to the invention, it is provided that microencapsulated agglomerates of nanoparticles are used as particles. This advantageously allows the advantages that accompany the use of nanoparticles to be used for the coating. The nanoparticles are held together by microencapsulations, wherein the microencapsulated particles formed in this way that are used in the cold gas spraying method have dimensions in the micrometer range, thereby allowing them to be used in the first place in cold gas spraying The microencapsulated nanoparticles may be used for example to produce a UV protective coating on lamp bases for gas discharge lamps.

Cold gas spraying method

A method for coating a workpiece by cold gas spraying is carried out using a cold gas spray nozzle which generates a particle jet that is directed onto the surface. Additional energy is introduced into the layer that is being formed by way of an electromagnetic energy source, e.g. a laser, which the energy introduced into the particles by the cold gas spray nozzle also contributes to forming the layer. The cold spraying process can be used flexibly as a result of the additional activation by way of electromagnetic radiation. Moreover, layers having a complicated structure, e.g. strip conductors, can be created with the aid of the laser without further processing. A coating unit includes a generator for electromagnetic radiation in addition to the cold gas spray nozzle and is therefore suitable for carrying out the novel method.

In a cold gas spraying method, a gas jet () into which particles () are introduced is generated with the aid of a cold gas spray gun (). The kinetic energy of the particles () results in a layer being formed on a substrate (). The substrate is provided with a structured texture () which is transferred to the layer () that is formed. The method makes it advantageously possible to produce a high-temperature superconducting layer on the substrate () by selecting an appropriate particle () composition. The process can be additionally supported using a heating device () in a subsequent thermal treatment step.

A cladding () for a wall () includes a barrier layer () that can be deformed by the action of a polymer actuator (). According to the invention, a contact surface (A) of the cladding lies completely against the wall, at least in the non-deformed state, stabilizing the intrinsically elastic wall cladding. For example, the wall cladding can be fixed to the wall () in the form of lamellae (), at respective points, in such a way that the activation of the polymer actuator () causes the lamellae () to bend, thus permitting, for example, a layer () of ice to be detached from the cladding. Alternatively, the cladding can also be configured from a membrane actuator, which is fixed at points, or by its entire surface to the wall ().

The invention relates to a method for producing ceramic layers by spraying. A cold gas spraying method is used to produce polymer ceramics from pre-ceramic polymers. According to said method, a cold gas stream, to which particles of the pre-ceramic polymers are added via a conduit, is generated by a spray gun. The energy for creating a layer on a substrate is produced by injecting a powerful kinetic energy into the cold gas stream, thus preventing or significantly restricting the thermal heating of the cold gas stream. This permits the heat-sensitive pre-ceramic polymers to be spray-applied as a coating on a substrate using a cold gas spraying method. Polymer ceramics can thus be used in an economic method for the rapid production of layers with a relatively large thickness. The invention allows for example armoured layers, thermal protection layers and other functional layers to be produced.

Method for producing ceramic layers

The invention relates to a material composition that is used for producing a coating for a component, especially a turbine component, which is made of a metallic basic material, i.e. a metal or a metal alloy. Said material composition comprises a matrix material for forming a basic coating matrix and at least one filler for adjusting desired coating proportions or coating characteristics. The matrix material can be provided especially with basic glass ceramic properties. The inventive material composition is characterized in that the matrix material and/or the filler contains nanoparticles.
