Tool for installing and removing anti-friction skate wheel bearings press fit in plastic skate wheels. A tubular shouldered split end passing through the inner race provides bearing engagement when spread by retraction of a conically headed rod projecting beyond the split end. A threaded end of the rod projecting beyond tube is retracted by a threaded knob reacting against the end of the tube, and the tube with bearing is retracted by rotating knob fixed on the tube to feed a threaded portion of the tube through a threaded collar reacting against a side of the wheel. For installing a bearing, it is retracted into a press fit cavity in the skate wheel; and for removing the bearing it is oppositely retracted by the same split end tube extension when spread by the conically headed rod and rotated in the collar.

The disclosure relates to an insert for a metal cutting tool having a chip breaking groove in the top face thereof of truncated conical lateral cross section defined by spaced angularly related straight side walls joined by a straight bottom portion extending parallel to the top face of the insert.

Improved apparatus is disclosed for positively locating and retaining disposable inserts of a slotting cutter. The apparatus is arranged such that inserts normally used in non-rotating cut-off, parting or grooving tools can be mounted in a relatively narrow substantially circular rotating cutter body, thereby permitting narrower slot formations than heretofore possible with such tools.

A support blade for a cutting tool insert is disclosed featuring a unitary clamping arrangement for the insert actuated by a camming member permanently positioned in the blade.

Insert retention apparatus

An indexable insert drill employing a plurality of inserts located substantially in a single radial plane characterized by a round innermost insert having its arcuate cutting edge extending across the axial center line of the drill. One or more supplemental inserts, preferably square in configuration and including chip interruption notches positioned for positive axial lead, continue the cutting action radially beyond the arcuate center cut of the round insert with an outermost corner adapted to finish cut the side wall diameter of the hole.

Indexable insert drill

An indexable insert drill with a parallelogram shaped insert positioned at a negative axial lead, the insert having a slanted recess which provides an angularly oriented cutting edge extending from a face cutting corner through or slightly under and substantially beyond the drill axis, and a unique notch in the cutting edge providing chip interruption and stabilized lead.
