Aspects of the present disclosure include an adaptive notification and ticketing system for a telecommunications network. The system includes a computing device and a plurality of network devices associated with the telecommunications network. Data is generated about a plurality of past network events associated with the plurality of network devices. The computing device is utilized to generate a model from the data. The model may be used to interpret new network events and generate an output indicative of a service impact event. The new network events are applied to the model using the computing device to generate the output indicative of a service impact event. The computing device generates a responsive action from the output indicative of a service impact event. The service impact event is a network event that disrupts a network service associated with the telecommunications network.

A method of playing a card game includes the steps of providing at least one deck of cards comprising cards of at least two suits of a first color, and cards of at least two suits of a second color, the cards also having numerical values; providing at least one playing space for at least one player, the playing space having a plurality of indicators for indicating a combination of cards selected from the group consisting of card color, card suit, card numerical value, and combinations thereof; selecting at least one indicator for each player so as to provide each player with at least one player selected combination of cards; dealing three cards from the deck of cards to provide a dealt combination of card color, card suit and card numerical value; and comparing the dealt combination with the at least one player selected combination of cards, wherein the player is winner if the at least one player selected combination of cards includes the dealt combination.

Method of playing a card game

A process and arrangement are provided for the efficient generation of energy from coal, while at the same time providing for a relatively inexpensive step in processing of iron or steel, and the extraction of valuable materials such as oils from coal. An advantage to the process is that relatively low quality coals can be utilized, since the coal is pretreated before any burning operation. Generally, the process involves three interacting stages. In the First Stage, a coal liquefaction/pyrolysis procedure is utilized to drive off volatiles, and form a very low volatile char. The volatiles can be collected and utilized as a valuable oil product, such as for diesel fuel or the like. The char material is preferably pelletized and utilized as a reductant, in a Second Stage of iron reduction and melting. Preferably the iron reduction and melting operation is conducted in a cupola and the hot product gases are utilized directly and/or indirectly, to generate electricity in Stage Three, and to produce hot steam for use in driving certain portions of Stages One and Two. Also, preferably steel is formed from the reduced iron product of Stage Two. Preferred arrangements for generating steel are shown.

Apparatus for production of energy and iron materials, including steel

A fuel pump within the main shaft of a turbine engine comprises a fuel tube extending axially through the shaft, a first shaft wall and the second shaft wall spaced apart from each other at one end of the tube to define a flow passage therebetween, a plurality of substantially radially aligned vanes extending across the passageway, an annular cavity in fluid communication with the outlet of the vaned passageway and a plurality of circumferentially spaced injector nozzles in fluid communication with the annular cavity and opening into the combustion chamber of turbine engine. The pump vanes impart sufficient energy to the fuel to overcome friction losses in the injector nozzles and to overcome the pressure within the combustor chamber. In addition, the energy imparted to the fuel forms a fuel barrier which separates the combustor chamber pressure from pressure within the fuel tube. Fuel is delivered to the fuel tube by pumping and metering means which can be downsized from previously known fuel pump mechanisms since it only needs to meter a desired amount of fuel and provide pressure only to overcome friction losses in the flow path up to fuel tube within main shaft of the turbine.

A turbine engine, having a cooling passage diverting a part of the airflow from the turbine compressor for impingement upon the turbine blades, includes a concentric pair of apertured rings disposed in the passage for variably obstructing flow through the cooling passage between zero and a maximal value. One of the rings is fixed to the turbine housing, while the other of the rings is rotatable with respect to the first ring and the housing. The mobile ring can be rotated by a pressurized cylinder and piston assembly, or by a biasing device causing abutment of a stop on the second ring against an abutment surface on a cam. The cylinder and piston are actuated, or the cam is rotated, in dependence upon an engine operating characteristic such as engine speed, pressure, temperature, flight condition or other determinable parameter.

Turbine engine blade variable cooling means

A seal continuously maintains a condition of fluid sealing between a housing and a shaft rotatably mounted in the housing, independently of the speed of rotation of the shaft. The seal includes a higher speed seal and a lower speed seal each disposed between the housing and the shaft. One of the seals is positioned axially stationary with respect to the shaft. The other of the seals is mobile (either axially or radially) with respect to the shaft, between a first position in sealing contact with the housing and shaft, and a second position out of sealing contact with the housing and shaft. Preferably, the lower speed seal is mobile, so as to be moved out of contact with the shaft when the higher speed seal operates effectively, so as to minimize wear on the seal.

Lubrication seals

An improved mounting system is disclosed for a cathode ray tube. Base bracket members are supported between the tube faceplate and the tension band of the tube. The base bracket member includes an upstanding portion extending at an angle from a foot portion and includes a tee shaped structure spaced from the foot portion. The tee shaped structure is positioned through an opening in the mounting bracket member. With the mounting bracket member positioned to thus receive the tee shaped structure of the base bracket member through the opening, the mounting bracket member may be rotated relative to the base bracket member to the mounting position. In this position, one surface of the tee shaped structure is supported against a base bearing surface of the opening in the mounting bracket member, with the tee shaped structure engaging the upper surface of the base bearing arm portion of the mounting bracket member. One portion of the mounting bracket member is thus supported against the underlying tension band and the other portion of the mounting bracket member at its toe against the tube structure.

Cathode ray tube mounting system

A phosphor screen is produced by a vacuum deposition process using a planetary structure for simultaneously rotating and revolving structured substrates within a chamber. A thermal radiation shield is provided at the central axis and, because of the offset positions of the substrates, the deposited phosphor layers are formed with thicker edges than centers to thereby inherently exhibit uniformity correction characteristics. The process allows for single-layer depositions of relatively great thicknesses which, when annealed for relatively short periods of time, are comprised primarily of columnar fibers aligned normally to the substrate to inhibit lateral scattering of generated light within the screen.

A turbine engine construction is provided with novel shroud cooling means. The turbine engine includes a compressor having its outlet open to a combustion chamber into which fuel is also introduced. The hot expanding gases resulting from the combustion of the fuel within the combustion chamber exhaust through a plurality of circumferentially spaced and relatively stationary stator vanes and through one or more turbine stages to rotatably drive the same. A portion of the outlet gases from the compressor, however, are diverted from the combustion chamber and impinge upon an annular shroud secured to the support housing around each turbine stage in order to cool the shroud and minimize its thermal expansion. From the shroud, the cooling air flow passes through a fluid passageway formed through one or more stator vanes and is returned to the combustion chamber.

A turbine shroud assembly is provided for use in conjunction with a turbine engine having a turbine rotor consisting of a disc and plurality of blades attached to and extending radially outwardly from the disc wherein the outer tips of the blades are axially tapered at a predetermined angle. The shroud assembly comprises an annular shroud positioned around the turbine blades and tapered axially at the predetermined angle such that the shroud is evenly spaced radially outwardly from the turbine blades. A plurality of circumferentially spaced bell crank assemblies attach the shroud to a turbine support housing and, in response to thermal expansion of the shroud, axially shift the shroud in a direction to decrease the clearance between the shroud and the turbine blade tips.

A gas turbine engine is provided and comprises a housing having an air inlet and an exhaust outlet with a fluid passageway formed through the housing for connecting the inlet to the outlet. A low pressure spool assembly comprises a first shaft rotatably mounted within the housing and has at least one low pressure compressor stage secured to one end of the first shaft and a low pressure turbine stage secured to the other end of the first shaft. The low pressure compressor stage is disposed within the fluid passageway immediately downstream from the housing inlet while, conversely, the low pressure turbine stage is disposed within the fluid passageway and immediately upstream from the outlet. An intermediate pressure spool assembly is also provided and comprises a second shaft rotatably mounted within the housing and coaxial with the first shaft, an intermediate pressure compressor stage secured to one end of the second shaft and an intermediate pressure turbine stage secured to the other end of the second shaft. The intermediate pressure compressor stage is disposed within the fluid passageway immediately downstream from the low pressure compressor stage while the intermediate pressure turbine stage is positioned immediately upstream from the low pressure turbine stage. A high pressure spool assembly is further provided and comprises a third shaft rotatably mounted within the housing and having a high pressure compressor stage secured to one end of the shaft and a high pressure turbine stage secured to the other end of the third shaft. The high pressure compressor stage is disposed within the fluid passageway immediately downstream from the intermediate pressure compressor stage while the high pressure turbine stage is disposed immediately upstream from the intermediate pressure turbine stage. The high pressure stage further includes a fuel combustor and, in addition, the axis of the third or high pressure shaft is offset from and preferably perpendicular to the axes of the first and second shafts.
