A promotional display item provides an easel mounted sheet dispenser box, especially one dispensing individually folded coupon. The easel has a display panel supporting itself in an upright position by a base and two side supports. The display panel has an opening in it that aligns with an opening in the front wall of the dispenser box mounted onto the easel base. The sheet dispenser includes an arched member supporting and biasing a stack of sheets toward the openings such that a free end of the outermost sheet protrudes through the openings to facilitate dispensing a single sheet at a time. Preferably, the easel and the dispenser box are each formed from one sheet folded and scored paper blanks.

A box contains a spring or other biasing member and a stack of individual, non-interleaved flexible sheets, such as coupons, booklets or other promotional items. The spring is disposed between the stack of sheets and a bottom wall to push the stack of sheets toward an opening in a top wall of the dispenser. The spring imparts a bend in the stack so that the folded end of the sheet adjacent the opening is spaced from the stack and extends through the opening to allow for individual sheets to be dispensed one at a time.

The present invention discloses a dispenser box allowing for the removal of individual coupons without the chance of another coupon being removed at the same time. The dispenser comprises walls defining a cavity adapted to receive the stack of sheets, an opening through which the sheets may be individually dispensed, a flat bottom wall fitting within the dimensions of the four walls, and a resilient member to push the stack of sheets to the opening in the top wall of the dispenser.

A sheet article dispenser includes a housing and a double-acting spring designed to urge a stack of sheet articles toward an access opening in the housing to allow only the outermost sheet to be removed one at a time. The double-acting spring includes a thin flexible panel and a resilient band. The panel has opposite ends flanking a middle section. The ends each have a pair of lateral notches at opposite edges for receiving the resilient band. The ends are flexed inwardly to form an S-shaped structure with arcuate surfaces on each side of the middle section that can deform elastically.

The present invention discloses a method for dispensing scented coupons in a way that activates the scents as they are removed from a coupon dispenser. Incorporated into one section of the individual scented coupons is a microencapsulated scent. The dispenser comprises walls defining a cavity adapted to receive the stack of sheets, a rectangular flat top wall having an opening through which the sheets may be individually dispensed, a flat bottom wall having approximately the same dimensions as the flat top wall, with the flat bottom wall being approximately parallel to the flat top wall, and resilient means to push the stack of said sheets to the opening in the top wall of the dispenser. As individual, folded scented coupons are removed from the dispenser box, the coupon section having the microencapsulated scent is dragged across the scent release piece in the dispenser, thereby causing the microencapsules to break open allowing more of the scent of the coupons to be released.
