Methods and compositions for inhibiting corrosion of a metal product are provided. The metal product can be contacted with water that includes at least one carbonate and/or bicarbonate salt, or otherwise has components that increase the alkalinity of the water. In addition, or as an alternative, the water can include a stannous corrosion inhibitor. The water can be evaporated off of a surface of the metal product to provide a residual of the salt on the surface and/or a protective stannous film on the surface.

Methods and compositions for inhibiting corrosion on metal surfaces

Methods and systems are provided for removing calcite deposits by contacting polysuccinimide with water to dissolve the polysuccinimide and supplying the dissolved polysuccinimide to surfaces fouled with the calcite deposits. The pH of the water that dissolves the polysuccinimide can be adjusted based on the amount of calcium in the water. Adjusting the pH will affect the dissolution rate of the polysuccinimide in water and the rate of removal of the calcite deposits.

Methods and systems for calcite removal using polysuccinimide

A method for inhibiting corrosion of a corrodible metal surface that contacts water in a water system is provided. The method may include introducing into the water a treatment composition including an ex-situ halogenated triazole compound in an amount sufficient for inhibiting corrosion. A method of measuring a concentration of the ex-situ halogenated triazole compound in water in a water system is also provided. The method may include inducing the halogenated triazole compound to fluoresce and measuring an intensity of the fluorescence emitted from the water to determine the concentration of the halogenated triazole compound in the water. The concentration of the halogenated triazole can be monitored and controlled. The concentration of the halogenated triazole can be adjusted to a desired level based on the measured fluorescence value.

A fencing tool for bending wire clips used to secure fencing material to fence posts. The tool has a handle and a bit pivotally attached to the handle. The bit is inserted into a looped end of a wire clip and rotated about a fence wire to secure the clip to the fence wire and the fence wire to the fence post. A hole in the bit is provided within which to insert a non-looped end of a wire clip to likewise bend the wire clip around the fence wire as the bit is rotated about the fence wire.

Methods and compositions for removing deposits from surfaces in contact with the water of a cooling water system are disclosed. A lignosulfonate compound, alone or in combination with other materials, is effective in removing such deposits.
