A computer security process monitor detects security intrusions of a networked computing platform by monitoring execution statistics associated with one or more computer processes executed by the platform in relation to expected (or 'valid') execution parameters. The execution statistics in one example include system process statistics (e.g., process name, peak memory usage, maximum number of threads, peak CPU utilization) and network interface statistics (e.g., IP ports, protocols) associated with the one or more computer processes; and the valid execution parameters define acceptable values or states corresponding to the execution statistics.

A mobile device and method in one example for automatically redialing a dialed number when a call has failed is provided. The mobile device stores the dialed number when the call is initially being placed. If the call fails, the mobile device determines if a call retry service should be invoked. If so, the mobile device determines whether a call retry system has already been enabled. If the call retry system has been enabled, the mobile device will continually and automatically call the dialed number until a terminating party at the dialed number answers or a selectable time limit has expired. When the terminating party answers the call, the mobile device rings so that a subscriber of the mobile device may answer the ring and connect the call. The mobile device may also detect if the dialed number is an emergency number or non-emergency number. A recorded message recorded by the subscriber may be automatically played to the terminating party if the subscriber does not answer the ring. Alternatively, or in addition to, a default recorded message may be played to the terminating party if the subscriber does not answer the ring.

Cellular telephone with automatic redial capability

An exemplary method in a wireless telecommunication system determines that a radio frequency (RF) communications link is not available to a wireless mobile. Information about a party originating a call to the wireless mobile is received and stored in a record associated with the wireless mobile. An alert flag associated with the wireless mobile is set. Upon determining that an RF link has become available to the wireless mobile and upon detecting the presence of the set alert flag, a communication action is automatically taken by which the party is made aware that an RF link is available to the wireless mobile, such as by sending a message to the party based on information stored about the party in the record.

Embodiments of the method and system provide for providing a call waiting method for use in a telecommunications network in which a first caller is engaged in a current call with a second caller, and for processing an incoming call from a third caller to the first caller. The method may have the steps of: providing identification of a plurality of callers in a predefined caller group; detecting an incoming call from a third caller to a first caller, the first caller presently being engaged in a current call with a second caller; checking if the third caller is a member of the predefined caller group; if the third caller is a member of the predefined caller group, signaling the third caller to leave a message to be sent to the first caller with a call waiting indication, recording a message from the third caller, and providing to the first caller a call waiting indication along with the recorder message from the third caller; and, if the third caller is not a member of the predefined caller group, providing to the first caller only a call waiting indication. The system implements the method.

Call waiting calling party defined content

Audible ring, which is provided to all line appearances, is detected and used to determine whether or not a far end party has answered, i.e., answer supervision, for equipment connected to the line appearance which requires answer supervision for proper operation. The line appearance is monitored to detect ringing tone received at the line appearance within a first period of time from call origination. If ringing tone is not detected at the line appearance within the first period of time, receipt of answer supervision is indicated. If ringing tone is detected at the line appearance within the first period of time, the timing for the first period of time is canceled and timing for a second period of time is started from the cancellation of timing for the first time period. The timing for the second period of time is restarted each time ringing tone is detected at the line appearance during the second period of time with receipt of answer supervision being indicated if ringing tone is not detected within the second period of time.
