A three-tiered funneling type mist collection arrangement for collecting water from mist in air flowing therethrough is disclosed. The mist collection arrangement includes support frame, first funnel disk, second funnel disk, third funnel disk, and mesh member. First funnel disk, second funnel disk, and third funnel disk are mounted on the support frame while being coaxially aligned, such that a first drip cavity, a second drip cavity, and a third drip cavity is coaxially aligned with each other. The second funnel disk has a lesser diameter than the first funnel disk. The mesh member is attached to and extends between a first periphery of the first funnel disk and a second periphery of the second funnel disk, to form a frustoconical structure. Water in mist of surrounding air is collected on the mesh member, which is trickled to the first funnel disk and later to the third funnel disk.

Mist collection arrangement

An automobile air intake system is provided that channels air from outside the automobile engine compartment to the engine. The automobile air intake system according to an embodiment of the invention includes an intake enclosure coupled to a bulkhead across the front of the engine compartment. The automobile grille, radiator, and a front portion of the hood in front of the bulkhead form a flow channel to an intake port of the intake enclosure. Aspects of the invention include a screen extending from the bulkhead to the grille for inhibiting the flow of water and particles through the flow channel. Other aspects provide an alternative air path for channeling air from the engine compartment to the intake enclosure.

Automobile over-bulkhead air intake system

A vehicle air intake system includes a grille disposed along the front portion of an engine compartment, a hood disposed over the engine compartment and a bulkhead cover disposed in the engine compartment below the hood. The bulkhead cover has a bulkhead cover intake port and a deflector disposed along and extending forwardly from a lower portion of the bulkhead cover intake port to circuitously redirect airflow passing from the grille to the bulkhead cover intake port.

A vehicle drain hole structure includes an enclosure (e.g., an air intake tube, an intake enclosure, a resonator, a cleaner, etc.) defined by at least one wall. The at least one wall has an inner surface and an outer surface. A drain hole is defined in the at least one wall for providing drainage from the enclosure. The drain hole extends from a first end defined in the inner surface to a second end defined in the outer surface. The first end of the drain hole at the inner surface has a larger cross-sectional area than the second end of the drain hole at the exterior surface to reduce the likelihood of a liquid film forming across the drain hole.

Vehicle drain hole structure

An automobile air intake system is provided that channels air from inside the automobile engine compartment to an air intake enclosure leading to the engine. Air inside the engine compartment is channeled via a passageway in the hood to an air intake enclosure leading to the engine. The intake path through the hood may be an alternate path for providing air to the engine when a primary path is at least partially obstructed. According to an embodiment of the invention, the automobile air intake system includes an intake enclosure and a hood having a passageway formed between the hood skin and the hood frame for channeling air from the within the engine compartment to the intake enclosure.
