A secondary circuit breaker for a distribution transformer characterized by electrical inductive apparatus within an oil-filled housing, and circuit interrupter for controlling current flow through said apparatus and comprising a releasable latch arm, trip means operable upon overload conditions to release the latch arm, a latch lever between the trip means and the latch arm, and a signal light circuit for activating a signal light when current through the circuit breaker exceeds a low signal overload value. That is less than the trip value.

A coil for a 12-pulse transformer-rectifier apparatus assembled on a three-leg magnetic core comprising a half primary winding sandwiched between two half secondary windings of substantially the same height as the half primary winding. A pair of coils associated with one leg of a three-leg magnetic core in a 12-pulse transformer-rectifier, are oriented in opposition to one another, and have all their terminal conductors extending parallel to one another with transversal connectors in closely-related parallel planes.

In a transformer-rectifier converter system, at least one inductance is inserted in the commutation path of two adjacent diode or thyristor devices in a cluster of three devices related to a common DC polarity pole, the reactance due to such inductance being sufficient to lengthen the commutation overlap thereby to minimize AC line harmonics. The invention is applicable to AC/DC as well as to DC/AC conversion.
