An improved battery operated combination burglar alarm and door chime mounted to the inside of a door from where the alarm and chime modes are selected. A dead bolt slide cooperates with a jamb plate fastened to the door frame to manually arm the device from the inside with the door closed. Opening the door activates the dead bolt and sounds the alarm. A magnetically sensitive switch within the device cooperates with a magnet fastened to the jamb plate and further cooperates with a mode selection switch to effect either the chime mode or delayed alarm mode when the door is opened. The delayed alarm mode is activated with the door open to permit pre-arming the device followed by automatic arming of the device when the door is closed. Depending upon the alarm mode selected, unauthorized opening of the door can either lock the door from further opening and instantaneously sound an alarm to protect an occupied dwelling or sound an alarm after a predetermined time when the door has been fully opened to protect an unoccupied dwelling. A combination switch deactivates the alarm and chime modes. Other switches can alter the switch combination. A smoke detector may be integrated with the above.

Burglar alarm and door chime

A weeding tool with a combination of attachments integrated with a fulcrum to remove specific types of weeds based on their root structure. The attachments remove weeds whose roots are characterized as lengthy single-type roots, medium-depth bushy-hair type roots and near-surface vine-type roots. A fulcrum slidably attached to the tool handle ergonomically assists the gardener in extracting weeds by limiting angular rotation of the handle. The fulcrum may be used to apply foot pressure in penetrating hard soil. The fulcrum slides on the tool handle with respect to the end of the lifting blade to vary its penetration depth and is used for extracting single-type weed roots at different depths. The multiple-tine rake rotatably attached to the fulcrum is snapped into position and spring-biased to remain in position for extracting weeds having medium-depth bushy roots. The cultivator bar rotatably attached to the fulcrum is snapped into position for near-surface weed removal or general soil tilling. A crevice blade, rotatably attached to the fulcrum removes weeds between the gaps of patio paving blocks and the like, is snapped into position for this task. Most of these attachments can be combined onto one tool or other combinations integrated with the slidably attached fulcrum.

A thermocouple for use with a brake block outputs a signal indicative alternatively of the steady state temperature of the brake block friction element and of the transient temperature of the friction element brake drum interface.

Brake block temperature and wear measuring device

An adapter-tip retainer pin has a wedge member and a lock member joined by a first pair of walls on a resilient member. The resilient member includes a central cavity and a second pair of walls which are curved inwardly toward the cavity such that the second pair of walls collapse inwardly when the retainer pin is compressed during insertion or removal from an adapter-tip assembly.

Dipper tip retaining pin

A unitary urethane snubber is provided to snub opening and closing movements of a dipper door. The snubber has an elongated working section that is stretched to snub door closing and bent to snub door opening. A pair of integral end lugs pivotally attach the snubber to the dipper and to the door. The snubber is unstressed in an intermediate position to facilitate installation.

A hammer adapted to be pivotally mounted between a pair of rotors in a hammer mill has a pair of sidewalls each of which is adjacent a rotor. Each sidewall has a recess which collects small pieces of scrap which get trapped between the sidewall and the adjacent rotor. A portion of the recess extends beyond the outer periphery of the adjacent rotor so that scrap collected in the recess can be ejected therefrom.

A battery-operated burglar alarm mounted to the inside of a door and capable of being armed from either side. Two slides on the device provide for two modes of operation in cooperation with a plate fastened to the door frame. One slide permits manual arming of the alarm from the inside with the door closed. Another slide permits manual pre-arming of the alarm from the inside with the door open and subsequent automatic arming of the alarm as the door is closed. Depending upon the mode of operation, unauthorized opening of the door can either lock the door and instantaneously sound an alarm or sound an alarm after a predetermined time with the door unlocked. A combination switch deactivates the alarm and another switch can alter the combination.
