A redundant lighting driver system includes a primary driver and a backup driver. The primary driver and the backup driver are electrically coupled to receive an alternating current (AC) power from a power source. The primary driver or the backup driver power a light source at a time. The primary driver is configured to provide a primary power to the light source, and the backup driver is configured to provide a backup power to the light source when the primary power is unavailable. The backup driver is designed to withstand a larger power surge than the primary driver.

Redundant lighting driver system

A system can configure a luminaire for providing illumination of a selected color temperature, a selected lumen output, or a selected photometric distribution. The luminaire can comprise at least two light sources that have different illumination characteristics, for example different color temperatures, different lumen outputs, or different photometric distributions. The system can configure the luminaire to operate a first of the two light sources, a second of the two light sources, or both of the light sources based on an input. When the luminaire is configured to operate both of the light sources, the luminaire can produce illumination having a color temperature, a lumen output, or a photometric distribution that is different than either of the two light sources.

Configurable lighting system

A lighting device having wireless resonant coupling includes a wireless power transmitter unit and a light module that includes a light source. The wireless power transmitter unit is configured to provide power to the light module wirelessly by transmitting a power waveform to the light module. An amplitude of a fundamental frequency component of the power waveform equals an amplitude of a third harmonic frequency component of the power waveform.

Light fixture with wireless resonant coupling

A light fade controller includes an input power detection circuit configured to detect whether an input power is available. The light fade controller further includes a power discharge circuit configured to enable a power discharge path to discharge output power from a driver circuit through the power discharge path in response to the input power detection circuit detecting that the input power is unavailable. The power discharge circuit is also configured to adjust a rate of power discharge through the power discharge path, and the power discharge circuit either: a) includes a switch () that is controlled by a pulse width modulation (PWM) control signal to enable and disable the power discharge path and to adjust the rate of power discharge through the power discharge path, wherein a pulse width of the PWM signal is adjusted to enable and disable the power discharge path and to adjust the rate of power discharge through the power discharge path; or b) is configured to adjust the rate of power discharge based on a user input provided to the power discharge circuit.

Light turn-off fade time control

A lighting driver includes a negative third harmonic generator configured to generate a negative third harmonic signal corresponding to a third harmonic of an AC input voltage shifted by 180 degrees. The lighting driver further includes an adder circuit configured to generate an adder output signal by adding the negative third harmonic signal to a voltage divider output signal generated from the AC input voltage. The lighting driver also includes a controller configured to control generation of a DC output voltage provided by the lighting driver based on a control signal generated from the adder output signal.

A lighting fixture includes a light source that emits an illumination light and a receiver configured to receive a lighting control message from a photo sensor device. The lighting fixture further includes a lighting controller configured to adjust the illumination light based on the lighting control message. Adjusting the illumination light by the lighting controller includes changing a Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) of the illumination light.

Indoor lighting control based on outdoor light

A luminaire can include an antenna and a first communication mode that is configured to communicate with an external system. The luminaire can also include a second communication mode that is configured to communicate with the external system. The luminaire can further include a switch coupled to the antenna, the first communication mode, and the second communication mode, where switch has a first position and a second position, where the switch, when in the first position, couples the first communication mode with the antenna, and where the switch, when in the second position, couples the second communication mode with the antenna.

Configurable modes for lighting systems

A lighting device, comprises a light source configured to provide a low Cyanosis Observation Index (COI) white light having a total flux, the light source comprising a first group of LEDs configured to provide a wide blue light, a second group of LEDs configured to provide a wide green light, and a third group of LEDs configured to provide a wide red light, wherein the low COI white light is a combination of at least the wide blue light, the wide green light, and the wide red light, wherein a current provided to the light source is distributed among the first group of LEDs, the second group of LEDs, and the third group of LEDs such that the wide blue light contributes 7 percent to 9 percent of the total flux, the wide green light contributes 62 percent to 76 percent of the total flux, and the wide red light contributes 20 percent to 26 percent of the total flux, and wherein a COI of the low COI white light is less than 1.

Low cyanosis observation index luminaire

A luminaire can include a housing having at least one outer surface that forms a cavity. The luminaire can also include at least one electrical component disposed, at least in part, within the cavity. The luminaire can further include an electrical cable having a first end and a second end, where the first end is coupled to the at least one electrical component. The luminaire can also include a switch coupled to the electrical cable, where the switch is disposed remotely from the housing, where the switch has multiple positions, wherein each position of the switch corresponds to a discrete photometric distribution emitted by one or more light sources of the luminaire.

A luminaire can include a power supply that receives AC mains power from a power source and delivers intermediate power. The luminaire can also include a control module coupled to the power supply, wherein the control module receives the intermediate power from the power source, where the control module includes at least one first switch that has multiple positions, where each position of the at least one first switch corresponds to an output power level of a plurality of output power levels. The output power level can correspond to a discrete photometric distribution by a plurality of light sources of the luminaire.

An electrical circuit can include a circuit board having a first portion and a second portion. The electrical circuit can also include at least one first light source disposed on the first portion. The electrical circuit can further include multiple second light sources disposed on a trimmable section of the second portion. The electrical circuit can also include at least one third light source disposed on a non-trimmable section of the second portion. The trimmable section can be trimmed to form a trimmed circuit board. The trimmed circuit board can have disposed thereon a remainder of the plurality of the second light sources. The at least one first light source, the remainder of the plurality of second light sources, and the at least one third light source can be disposed on the trimmed circuit board in such a way as to provide substantially uniform light.
