A cooling system configured to remove heat from a chimney of a server cabinet. The cooling system including a first chimney portion adjacent to the server cabinet, a second chimney portion extending from a top of the first chimney portion, wherein the second chimney portion is disposed above the server cabinet, a chimney heat exchanger disposed in the second chimney portion and above the server cabinet, a fluid inlet for providing a working fluid to the chimney heat exchanger, a fluid outlet for discharging the working fluid from the chimney heat exchanger, and an air handler heat exchanger connected to the chimney heat exchanger by a return air plenum, wherein the chimney heat exchanger has an upstream surface that receives waste heat generated by a server disposed in the server cabinet and a downstream surface that discharges air to the return air plenum.

Data center cooling system

A heat exchanger for removing heat from a server cabinet, wherein the heat exchanger is disposed within the server cabinet and behind at least one server in the server cabinet, the heat exchanger including an upstream surface facing the at least one server, the upstream surface receiving air heated by the at least one server, wherein the air enters the heat exchanger in a generally horizontal direction, the heat exchanger having a fluid inlet for receiving a working fluid, and a fluid outlet for discharging the working fluid, wherein the working fluid cools the air entering the heat exchanger, and the heat exchanger having a downstream surface that discharges air cooled by the heat exchanger, wherein the air cooled by the heat exchanger exits the heat exchanger in a generally vertical direction.

A system for controlling power in a facility having an electrical system including a generator and an associated fuel tank. The fuel tank provides fuel to the generator and has a gauge indicating remaining fuel. The generator is electrically connected to the electrical system. A first power consuming device imposes a first load connected to the electrical system of the facility and second power consuming device imposes a second load connected to the electrical system of the facility. The system receives information related to the loads and calculates an initial estimated run time of the generator given the remaining quantity of fuel and information related to the first load and information related to the second load. The system selectively removes the second load in a simulation and calculates a second run time of the generator given the remaining quantity of fuel and information related to the first load.

System for controlling power in a facility

A cooling system configured to remove heat from a chimney of a server cabinet. The chimney has an extending portion extending above the server rack including a chimney heat exchanger in the extending portion above the server rack. The chimney heat exchanger has a fluid inlet for receiving a working fluid and a fluid outlet for discharging the working fluid. The chimney heat exchanger also has an upstream surface receiving warm waste heat generated by one or more servers and a downstream surface that discharges cooled air cooled by the chimney heat exchanger. The server rack may be accessed through the chimney without requiring movement of the chimney heat exchanger.

The first heat exchanger has a fluid inlet for receiving a working fluid and a fluid outlet for discharging the working fluid. The first heat exchanger also has an upstream surface receiving waste heat generated by one or more servers and a downstream surface that discharges air cooled by the first heat exchanger. The upstream surface is generally perpendicular to the downstream surface.
