Devices, methods, and systems for reducing greenhouse gas emissions of a wireless network are disclosed. In one embodiment, the device can monitor network resource utilization of a RAN cell and predict its future network resource utilization based on at least one factor. The device can determine the future network resource utilization of a non-terrestrial network (NTN). When the network resource utilization of the RAN cell is less than a first threshold and network resource utilization of the NTN is less than a second threshold in the future time period, the device can initiate an energy conservation procedure. The energy conservation procedure can comprise sending an instruction to a first wireless device connected to the RAN cell to transfer a first call or a first data session from the RAN cell to the NTN and sending an instruction to the RAN cell to enter a low power mode of operation.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions of terrestrial wireless telecommunications networks

Systems, methods, and processing nodes for managing wireless network communications perform and/or comprise: establishing a trace session; and while the trace session is active: receiving a plurality of message reports, wherein respective ones of the plurality of message reports correspond to protocol interactions between an access node and a wireless device, determining whether the wireless device is technically capable of communicating using a communication technique, determining, from the plurality of message reports, whether the wireless device is communicating with the access node using the communication technique, and in response to a determination that the wireless device is capable of communicating using the communication technique and that the wireless device is not communicating with the access node using the communication technique, initiating an over-the-air upgrade process to enable the communication technique in the wireless device.

System and method for normalizing network device communication capabilities

Systems and methods are provided for managing uplink transmission power (UTP) plans for user devices. A manager can assess UTP adjustment criteria to determine if an updated UTP plan should be activated for the user device. UTP plans may need to be updated when devices are transmitting too much power or not enough in order to be received by a telecommunications network. Updated UTP plans can increase or decrease the power transmitted by the device.

Managing uplink transmission power plans

A computerized method analyzes proposed orders for network sites and generates associated order recommendations. A system configuration order (SCO) manager receives a proposed order from an ordering platform and generates a proposed site configuration using the proposed order and a current site configuration of the site. In some examples, the current site configuration is obtained from a network configuration manager associated with the site. The SCO manager generates a recommended site configuration using a configuration recommendation model and the proposed site configuration as input to the configuration recommendation model. A component difference between the recommended site configuration and the proposed site configuration is identified and an order recommendation is generated using the identified component difference. The generated order recommendation is then provided to the ordering platform. The SCO manager catches ordering errors and reduces ordering inefficiencies in complex site network management systems.

Generating order recommendations for network site configurations

Method and system for reducing greenhouse gas emissions of a terrestrial wireless telecommunications network are disclosed. The system monitors a current energy consumption metric of the terrestrial network, predicts an energy consumption metric of the terrestrial network in a future time period based on at least one triggering event, and determines an available capacity metric of a non-terrestrial network in the future time period. When the energy consumption metric of the terrestrial network is greater than a first threshold and the available capacity metric of the non-terrestrial network is greater than a second threshold, the system causes the terrestrial network to enter an energy conservation mode of operation by transferring a first call or a first data session from a RAN cell of the terrestrial network to the non-terrestrial network and further causes the RAN cell to enter a low power mode of operation.

Reducing network energy consumption using predictive analytics

The system obtains an event report identifying a UE, and a location of the UE. The system obtains a primary service plan provided to the UE, and a second service plan, where the second service plan is available to the UE at the location of the UE. The system obtains a first measurement of a parameter indicating a first QoS provided to the UE, and a second measurement of the parameter indicating a second QoS provided to multiple UEs, where the multiple UEs are proximate to the UE. The system compares the first and the second measurement to determine whether the first QoS is lower than the second QoS. Upon determining that the first QoS is lower, the system confirms that the second service plan is likely to improve the QoS. Upon confirming, the system sends a request to change the primary service plan to the second service plan.

Dynamically adjusting a service plan provided to a UE by a wireless telecommunication network

Methods, media, and systems are provided for dynamic session trace management for user equipment (UE). For example, a first node is identified for a first UE, the first node being associated with a default trace processor. In some embodiments, the first node is identified based on a setup communication with the first UE. A trace profile for the first UE may generated. The trace profile may indicate a primary trace processor for the first UE. Based on the default trace processor of the first node being different than the primary trace processor, the first node is instructed to utilize the primary trace processor for trace reports associated with the first UE. In some embodiments, the primary trace processor may identify a location for the first UE using the trace reports. The trace reports may be received from a plurality of nodes and maintained by the primary trace processor.

Dynamic tracing in wireless communication networks

Systems, methods, and devices that relate to an inspection system deployed in a core network. The inspection system includes one or more inspection agent nodes located close to an edge of the core network configured to generate one or more network reports based on information from one or more access nodes. An inspection manager node is in communication with the one or more inspection agent nodes to receive one or more network reports from the one or more inspection agent nodes, derive an actual network behavior of the one or more access nodes based on the one or more network reports, detect a discrepancy between an expected network behavior and the actual network behavior, and trigger a reconfiguration of at least one of the one or more access nodes based on the discrepancy.

Automated inspection of network state

Detecting and remediating fraud on a wireless communications network is described. Trace reports corresponding to nodes and user equipment may be received. Two or more user equipment and associated with a common user may be indicative of fraud. Two or more user equipment may be instructed to identify their precise location, such as via a minimization of drive-testing system of the node and/or UE. Upon receiving a first precise location associated with a first user equipment and a second precise location associated with a second user equipment, and accessing a historical record of the common user, a comparison may be performed. Based upon this, one or more user equipment may be identified as fraudulent. Various remedial actions may be instructed related to at least one of the first node or the first user equipment.

Fraud detection in wireless communication networks

The technology described herein improves management of the optimization of a device configuration associated with one or more wireless communication technologies. An analysis is performed using performance data and device capability information for a plurality of user devices. An optimal device configuration associated with one or more wireless communication technologies is determined for one or more identified user devices of the plurality of user devices. The one or more identified user devices are instructed to operate using the determined optimized device configuration.

Optimization of device configuration relating to wireless access technologies

Systems and methods are provided for managing network configurations. In aspects, fixed wireless access-capable devices can be identified by a network manager to aggregate network connections. This may be utilized to manage congestion at a network node such that multiple direct connections with the network node are aggregated into fewer direct connections with the network node, using a fixed wireless access-capable device as an intermediary.

Managing network configurations

A method of computer authentication of a user request for a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card transfer by a biometric signature from a user equipment (UE) comprising assigning a risk score, by a mobile service provider, to a user account based on user activity in the user account, wherein the user activity includes a SIM card transfer authorization. The mobile service provider then sends a message requesting a biometric signature from an authentication application executing in memory on the UE. The authentication application on the UE then proceeds capturing a biometric signature, encrypting the biometric signature, and sending an encrypted biometric signature to the mobile service provider using a wireless communication protocol. The mobile service provider then compares the biometric signature to an authorized signature and modifies the risk score based on the comparison.

Subscriber identification module (SIM) authentication protections

The disclosed system adjusts performance of a network. The system obtains a configuration and historical performance of the network. Based on the historical performance, the system identifies a time window and a location associated with the network. Based on the configuration and the historical performance, the system identifies a parameter associated with the network, parameter adjustment, success criterion, failure criterion, and deployment duration. Based on the time window, the location, and the deployment duration, the system determines a testing time window within the time window, where the testing time window satisfies a density threshold indicating low impact to UEs associated with the network. The system deploys the parameter adjustment at the location during the testing time window, and monitors the performance of the network. The system determines whether the success or failure criterion is satisfied, and preserves the parameter adjustment or terminates the test, respectively.

Adjusting a configuration of a wireless telecommunication network

Systems, methods, and devices that relate to an automated auditing system of the network conditions are disclosed. In one example aspect, a network device in a core network for wireless communication include one or more processors that are configured to determine an expected network state based on predefined configuration information of one or more network resources, receive measurement results reported by one or more wireless devices via at least one radio access node, estimate an actual network state based on the measurement results reported by one or more wireless devices, and detect a discrepancy between the expected network state and the actual network state.

Automated network state auditor

A method and system for enabling MMS message delivery to a recipient device. An MMSC receives and stores MMS message content to be delivered to the recipient device, and the MMSC responsively sends to the recipient device an MMS-notification message carrying an address of the MMS message content stored at the MMSC and then receives a reply indicating that the recipient device received the MMS-notification message. The MMSC then detects that, after the MMSC received the reply, (i) at least a predefined threshold amount of time has passed and (ii) the MMSC has not yet received from the recipient device a request to download the MMS message content. And responsive to at least the detecting, the MMSC then sends to the recipient device a data-service-trigger message that triggers turning on data service of the recipient device, thus enabling MMS-message delivery to the recipient device.
