A microwave resistant mixing device that is particularly useful for food preparation utilizing a motor which includes a moving mixing arm or paddle. The motor is further provided with a coupling for detachably mechanically linking the mixing arm to the motor. A housing provides a wall that forms a chamber to contain the motor. The housing also is constructed with an opening that provides access to the mixing arm coupling of the motor. A first shield prevents microwaves from entering the housing chamber through the housing wall. A second shield prevents microwaves from entering the housing chamber through the opening in the housing wall.

Microwave resistant mixing device

An apparatus and method for producing applesauce utilizing unpeeled apples that have been cored or reamed on the stem and blossom ends. The apples are divided into portions and pumped into a heater which raises the temperature of the portions of the apple to approximately 71.degree.-73.degree. C. A finisher then separates the waste parts from the flesh of the apple portions. The apple flesh is pulped and pumped to a second heater which raises the temperature to approximately 90.degree.-104.degree. C. The applesauce product then travels through a dwell line to an expansion chamber for collection.

System and method for producing applesauce

A device removing the stem and blossom portions of fruit utilizing a support for the fruit which is capable of orienting the stem or the blossom portion of the fruit in an upright position. The support permits access to either the stem or blossom portion of the fruit and is spanned by a pair of fruit reamers. Each fruit reamer is capable of completely dressing out the stem and blossom portions of the fruit when the first and second reamers are brought toward one another.

Fruit indent removal device

A raceway for guiding containers relative to a structure utilizing a yoke which is anchored to the structure. Elongated rods are each fastened in spaced relationship to the yoke structure by a clamp. The clamp includes a body portion with a slot for holding each of the rods while extending a portion of each of the rods beyond the body of the clamp.

A method and apparatus for canning food products in a non-metallic jar, utilizing a non-metallic jar lid and a non-metallic enclosure enveloping the jar and lid and which is placed within a microwave oven for heating with a pressure control check valve for limiting the maximum pressure within the enclosure during heating and preventing entry of air during subsequent cooling of the enclosure and food product.

A method and apparatus for canning food products in a container whose lid is held on by pressure differential between the interior of the container and the outside atmosphere, in which a pressure cover encloses the upper portion of the container and lid, and with the container, forms an enclosed pressure vessel with internal structure urging the container lid against the upper extremity of the container, and pressure control apparatus for limiting the pressure within the pressure vessel, and a base assembly for engaging the pressure cover and the container.
