There is disclosed a protective head gear comprising a helmet having a brim positioned above the eyes of the wearer, a face protector covering at least a portion of the face of the wearer, and an adapter comprising an elongate cross member for securing the face protector to the helmet along the brim. There is also disclosed an adapter for attaching a face protector having a pair of strap receiving slots molded therein to a helmet, comprising a cross member secured to the helmet, and a pair of support arms for insertion into the strap receiving slots. Additionally, there is disclosed face protective gear for use with a helmet having a brim positioned above the eyes of the wearer, comprising a cross member comprising a lip molded along an upper edge, and a pair of goggles depending from the cross member When the cross member is secured to the helmet, the lip overlaps the brim.

Head protective gear

The present invention relates to a protective mask adapted to be worn by a person engaging in the game of paintball. The mask has a main body to cover the front, sides, mouth and ears of a user's face. It also has a removable flexible transparent lens that locks into a rigid support frame formed in the mask. The mask also has a strap to securely support the mask on a wearer's head, and a removable face engaging element provided to accommodate a face of the wearer. This face engagement element evenly engages around the wearer's face in a cushioned manner because its face engagement portion is made of foam that engages the user's face along the entire perimeter of the face engagement element. The face engagement element is securely locked onto the mask by locking clips that fit into openings on both sides of the face engagement element.

A combination includes eyewear, such as glasses, with a removable vapor barrier attachment. The eyewear includes a frame and lenses configured for protecting a user's eyes. The vapor barrier attachment is removably attached to the eyewear, and includes a base member removably attachable to the eyewear frame, and flap members extending from the base member. The flap members have a shape and length so as to extend longitudinally below the eyewear lenses. The flap members are attached to the eyewear along at least a portion of the length of the flap members and have a resilient sealing edge that conforms against the wearer's face to inhibit exhaled air from passing between the lenses and the wearer's face.

The eyewear described comprises a unitary lens consisting of a pair of transparent sight regions and of a bridging region therebetween and a lens engaging brow frame engaging the upper edge of the lens and having its opposite ends extending through openings provided at the opposite upper ends of the sight regions. Parts of the frame and of the lens cooperate to mount the brow frame to the lens. A nose piece engages the frame and the lens to secure the assembly together.

A protective mask adapted to be worn by persons engaging in physical games comprises a body consisting of a lens receiving portion, a nose portion, a chin portion, a brow portion, opposite cheek portions and opposite side temple portions; the lens receiving portion displays an opening which is covered by a removable flexible transparent lens having its opposite extremities configured with engagement portions that mount the lens to the body. A pair of anchor clamps are inserted at each opposite end of the lens to further secure the engagement of the lens to the mask body.

A protective mask adapted to be worn by persons engaging in physical games comprises a body formed of rigid plastic material including a nose portion, a chin portion, a brow portion, opposite cheek portions and opposite side temple portions; an opening is provided between the brow portion and the nose portion and cheek portions to be covered by a flexible transparent lens. A throat guard is pivotally mounted to the opposite cheek portions and extends inwardly of the chin and cheek portions; the throat guard is pivotal between two vertical positions relative to the chin and cheek portions and includes a tongue that extends towards the inner face of the mask and is adapted to contact an inner lower edge area of the mask to define the lowermost vertical position; the throat guard further includes a lower outwardly projecting area to contact the lower edge of the mask to define the uppermost vertical position for the throat guard.

The eyewear for industrial use comprises a deformable arcuate lens with a pair of temple receiving entries at opposite ends thereof, a deformable brow frame shaped to fit the upper edge of the lens so as to be engageable therewith and a pair of temple pieces, each piece being hingedly connected to a respective opposite end of the brow frame. Assembly of the temple pieces and brow frame to the lens is easily effected by inserting the temple pieces in the entries of the lens and by snap engagement of a mid-section of the brow frame to the upper edge of the lens. The assembly is made of plastic material so that it may be resiliently deformed to adapt to the various sizes of head of users.

An eyeglass construction is described and comprises a lens, a pair of lens engaging members, a pair of hinge members, and a pair of temple pieces. The hinge members are adapted to slidably engage the lens engaging members and to be connected therewith for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis. The pair of temple pieces each have a portion adapted to engage a hinge member and to be connected therewith for pivotal movement about a substantially vertical axis. The lens engaging member and the hinge member have cooperating angular positioning elements so that the members may be adjusted relative to one another to enable the lens to adopt various angular position relative to the temple pieces.
