High surface area polymer actuator with gas mitigating components

Packaging of bananas in containers, for example polyethylene bags, having designed permeabilities to oxygen, carbon dioxide, and ethylene. The bags preferably include a gas-permeable membrane comprising (1) a microporous film, and (2) a polymeric coating on the microporous film. The containers enable storage and/or ripening of bananas under controlled conditions. Using the new containers, bananas can be ripened while they are being transported, or in conventional ripening rooms without opening the containers in which they have been transported, or after they have left a ripening room. In addition, bananas can be preserved in a satisfactory ripened state for longer periods of time.

Adapters are provided for establishing fluid communication between an anesthetic agent container and an anesthetic vaporizer having a fluid port. The adapter may be mountable on the vaporizer to cooperate with the spout of an anesthetic agent container or may be mountable on an anesthetic agent container to cooperate with the fluid port of an anesthetic vaporizer to provide a sealing and/or retaining relationship therebetween.

Adapters for use with an anesthetic vaporizer

An adapter includes a base connectable to an anesthetic agent container, a spout that extends from the base and defines at least one flow path therethrough, and a valve assembly disposed within the at least one flow path, the valve assembly being moveable between a first open position and a second closed position. The adapter also includes a radially expandable seal disposed about the spout, the seal having a first end, a second end, and an intermediate region between the first and second ends that expands radially outward relative to a longitudinal axis of the spout. The valve assembly has a surface that cooperates with the seal, wherein the cooperation between the surface and the seal expands the intermediate region radially outward relative to the longitudinal axis with the valve assembly in the first position.

A rinse nozzle for gently and efficiently rinsing the interior and exterior of breathing regulators, snorkels, buoyancy compensator vests and other SCUBA equipment. The nozzle has an outlet adapted to releasably mate with regulator and snorkel mouthpieces and with the mouthpiece of a buoyancy compensator inflator. The nozzle includes a flow metering means, baffle means, and diffusing passage to provide low velocity fluid rinsing to prevent damage to the equipment. The rinse nozzle can be attached to any standard hose or faucet.

Scuba equipment rinse nozzle

A dust cover is provided with a transverse hook such that when the dust cover is secured in place on the first stage of a scuba regulator, the regulator assembly can be handled and hung by the hook without damage to the regulator or damage or kinking of regulator hoses. Embodiments for both American and European (DIN) configured regulators are enclosed.
