A mobile wireless communications device may include a housing having an opening therein and an inwardly extending housing ring adjacent the opening, and a switch carried by the housing and being aligned with the opening. The mobile wireless communications device may further include a backing member within the housing adjacent the opening, and an elastomeric switch membrane comprising a body covering the switch, and a flange coupled to the body and compressed between the backing member and the housing ring to define a seal therewith. The flange may include a flange base, and a pair of flange rings extending inwardly from the flange base and defining a valley therebetween aligned with the housing ring. In another embodiment, the flange may include a flange base and a first flange ring on a first surface thereof, and a pair of second flange rings on a second surface of the flange base and defining a valley therebetween aligned with the first flange ring.

Mobile wireless communications device with elastomeric sealing membrane covering switch and related methods

A radiographic apparatus is provided for rotating a radiographic assembly about a virtual pivot axis. The apparatus includes a structure for mounting a radiographic assembly having an x-radiation sensitive element for rotation about a pivot axis coincident with the center line of the element, wherein the structure mounts the assembly at a location other than at the pivot axis and a drive drivingly coupled to the structure for rotating the structure and the mounted radiographic assembly about the pivot axis, wherein the drive is also located at a location other than at the pivot axis.

Virtual pivot for a radiographic assembly

A radiography apparatus having an x-ray source, an x-ray imaging detector, and a support structure. The support structure is coupled to the x-ray source and to the x-ray detector and rotatable about two orthogonal axes and linearly moveable. The x-ray source and the x-ray imaging detector are each independently rotatable about third and fourth axes, respectively. The apparatus provides an operator with a number of degrees of freedom of motion of the x-ray source and the x-ray imaging detector to move them to different positions relative to a subject.
