A vertical corner joint for joining a first shower wall panel having a J-shaped channel integrally formed on an edge thereof and second shower wall panel having a resilient, elongate wedge member attached to the back side and along an edge thereof. The edge with the wedge is inserted into the channel of the first panel, thus compressing the wedge and forming a tight corner joint or seam. A multi-piece shower enclosure may include one or more such joints. A four-piece enclosure may include a shower base or bathtub, a back wall with channels on both vertical edges, and two side walls, each with an edge with a wedge for insertion into a respective channel. The channel may form a nailing flange. A sealing strip may be included between the front side of the second panel and the short side of the channel.

Multi-piece shower wall system and method of installation

Attachable and reattachable panels, particularly for water enclosing units, protect, enclose and/or cover an area such as a bathroom, steam room, shower, shower stall, bathtub, whirlpool bath, spa or the like. The panels include a clip assembly associated therewith for removably securing the panels in position and/or to other structural members. The clip assembly includes a male member and a female member, where the female member is configured for receiving the male member.

In the closed position, the door is adjacent the access opening, and in the open position the door is substantially clear of the access opening. The system includes a gray water reservoir under the tub of approximately the capacity of the tub and which can be connected to a sewer system. A high capacity toroidal tub drain conducts water from the tub into the reservoir by gravity alone very quickly.

A shower receptor with improved control of moisture and trapped water comprising one or more of the following improvements: the flange is significantly higher above the threshold than prior art receptors; the threshold is disposed higher than the ledge area where the shower wall materials meet the receptor; weep valleys are provided in the corners of the ledge area and where the ledge meets the threshold; the ledge area comprises multiple steps adapted to meet the subwall and finish wall materials wherein the steps are sloped toward the base and the tile step is lower than the subwall step; a raised curb is provided along the outer edge of the horizontal surface of the threshold, the curb adapted to redirect water that leaks out of the door enclosure back into the shower receptor.

Shower receptor

A threshold assembly adapted to be mounted at the threshold of a conventional barrier free shower in order to reduce the amount of water from the shower contacting the floor of the bathroom. The threshold assembly includes cooperating catch and cap members extending longitudinally across the threshold of the shower. A locking device extends between the catch and cap members for facilitating retention of the cap member on the catch member.
