Toy projectile launcher apparatus

A toy launch apparatus for discharging soft foam darts, the launch apparatus having a cylinder, a piston, a launch spring, a dart magazine and a dart tube. The dart tube is biased by a return spring so that after a dart discharge the dart tube is moved rearward from a launch chamber to allow the magazine to spring load a fresh dart. During a cocking cycle the dart tube moves forward and receives the dart so that loading of a second dart is blocked. The automatic withdrawal of the dart tube after discharge of a dart also allows an empty magazine to be disengaged from the launch apparatus and a freshly loaded magazine to be attached. This may be accomplished without an operator having to take any other action thereby resulting in a very quick reload.

Toy launch apparatus with dart magazine and automatically retracting dart tube

A toy launcher apparatus with a rotatable clip connector mounted to a lower portion of a housing. The housing also includes an upper portion, a barrel portion and a grip portion. Pivotally mounted to the upper portion of the housing is a handle and mounted to the grip portion is a trigger and a switch. Attached to the clip connector may be eight projectile clips and the clip connector is rotatable 45&#xb0; every time the handle is pivoted forward. Mounted within the housing are a battery compartment, and a wheel and motor assembly. Batteries in the battery compartment may power the wheel and motor assembly after the switch is activated by a user. Pulling the trigger causes a projectile, such as a foam dart, to be pushed from a clip aligned with the barrel portion toward spinning wheels of the wheel and motor assembly, and the wheels cause discharge the dart.

A cocking system for a toy gun apparatus wherein a gun housing includes a grip portion with an outward extending tab and a cocking handle connected to the gun housing. The handle is structured to receive the tab of another gun apparatus being held in a user's other hand to allow play where a user is able to hold two gun apparatus, one in each hand, and fire each and then cock each gun apparatus without releasing either gun apparatus.

Cocking system for dart launcher

A toy launcher apparatus for discharging soft foam projectiles, the apparatus having a housing and a barrel assembly, including side-by-side barrels, that simulates a real double barrel shotgun. Within the housing are two launching assemblies operatively connected to the barrels, and a trigger assembly for capturing launching tubes of the launching assemblies and for allowing a user to release the launching tubes, and launching springs mounted around the launching tubes to cause the projectiles to be 'fired' when the launching tubes are released. Also mounted to the housing and the barrel assembly, and operatively connected to the launching assemblies, is a cocking assembly having an elongated link pivotally connected at one end to the barrel assembly and at an opposite end to a ratchet and compression mechanism. The ratchet and compression mechanism includes a central block with an upward extending arm for engaging the launching tubes to compress the launching springs, and a downward extending arm for engaging a rack connected to an inner frame of the housing to prevent the launching springs, when partially compressed, from snapping to an expanded position should the user fumble the apparatus during a cocking cycle. The barrel assembly is rotatable between a housing aligned position and a housing nonaligned position. The barrel assembly also includes a slide collar for facilitating sliding the barrels between an extended position and a retracted position when the barrel assembly is in the housing aligned position.

Double barrel toy launcher apparatus

The wheel also includes an opening in the third portion leading to a chamber in a hollow support of the wheel. A spring-biased knob is mounted on a shaft that also mounts the wheel. Both the knob and the wheel have axially align protrusions that may engage each other to allow the wheel to be rotationally adjusted to correct any jam or misalignment of the darts stored on the wheel. A flexible arm and a pusher structure are also included with the magazine apparatus and are connected to a constant force spring, where the flexible arm and a portion of the constant force spring are lodged in the chamber of the hollow support during a dart loading process of the wheel, and the constant force spring uncoils when the wheel is rotated during the loading process. The constant force spring biases the wheel to feed the darts from both the drum and the clip to a firing position at the end of the clip located in the launcher, but the constant force spring is insufficient to discharge the darts when the magazine is not connected to the launcher.

A launcher apparatus for soft foam toy darts, the apparatus having a lock that operates momentarily during a cock and load cycle of the launcher apparatus to prevent an improper cocking operation. The launcher apparatus includes a barrel, a slide, a firing assembly and the lock. The launcher apparatus also includes three protrusions or surfaces for operative engagement with the lock to partially depress the lock, to fully depress the lock, and to disengage the lock to reset the launcher apparatus for the next cock and load cycle. During operation, one protrusion surface depresses the lock partially and momentarily, a second protrusion or surface fully depresses the lock to enable the lock to be maintained in the depressed state, and a third protrusion or surface causes the lock to be released.

A toy for launching two or more projectiles employing a central shaft cocking mechanism for rapid fire projectile launching through quick, simple and fun cocking and triggering mechanisms. The toy includes a housing assembly, a projectile device disposed about the housing with two or more projectiles, a piston and cylinder assembly. The piston is secured to the housing in a fixed position and the cylinder is slidably mounted on the piston, a cocking mechanism in mechanical communication with the piston and cylinder assembly including a shaft extending through the projectile device for engagement with the cylinder capable of moving the cylinder to a cocked position. A trigger mechanism is secured to the housing capable of advancing the projectile device to a firing position and capable of releasing the cylinder from a cocked position to advance the cylinder on the fixed piston and discharge a burst of compressed air launching a projectile.
