Compositions and methods for their use are disclosed, where the compositions comprise an amine component, an amine/phosphate ester component and optionally a solvent component. The compositions are adapted to coat solid materials, substrates and/or surfaces of producing reservoirs and formations and methods for making and using same, where the coating agents modify surface properties of the solid materials, substrates and/or surfaces of producing formations decreasing residual oil saturation.

Use of zeta potential modifiers to decrease the residual oil saturation

A novel method for producing amine-aldehyde sulfur scavenging compositions are disclosed, where the method comprises contacting an amine containing component and a aldehyde containing component in the presence of an alcohol at an amine to aldehyde ratio of between about 0.8 and 0.45 for a reaction time and at a reaction temperatures sufficient to produce an amine-aldehyde adduct product having a specific gravity between about 3% and 7% less than the specific gravity of a mixture of starting materials.

Aldehyde-amine formulations and method for making and using same

Air intake temperature in a gas turbine is regulated by a heat exchange fluid having a low viscosity at low temperatures. The circulated heat transfer fluid preferably comprises an alkali metal formate, most preferably potassium formate. The potassium formate may be blended with other alkali metal formate(s), with alcohol, glycols, salt brines, or any combination of glycols, alcohols, Sodium Nitrite, Sodium Nitrates, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Chloride, water and/or or other salt brines.

Optimizing inlet air for gas turbines

Corrosion in aqueous alkanolamine, physical solvents, or combination of alkanolamine and physical solvent solutions used to remove acid gases from natural gas, synthetic gas, or light hydrocarbon streams can be reduced by addition of mixtures of oxygen scavengers or mixtures of oxygen scavengers and sodium molybdate. The oxygen scavengers must be promoted to reduce metal surfaces in contact with the solutions to a more passive, harder, and insoluble form at the operating temperature of the treating system. The sodium molybdate provides additional passivation especially in the imperfections on the surface of the metal where corrosion accelerates.

Gas treating solution corrosion inhibitor

The formation of amine or glycol degradation products in solutions used to remove acid gases or water from hydrocarbon or inert streams is reduced by adding to the solution an oxygen scavenger in which the effective component is an oxime of the formula: ##STR1## Mixed with a quinone promotor in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different and are selected from hydrogen or lower alkyl groups of one to six carbon atoms. The addition of the quinone promotor increases the reactivity with oxygen at lower temperatures. The compound may also be as a corrosion inhibitor in gas treating or processing equipment.
