An aircraft system includes a processing unit configured to identify an airport marker during a surface operation at an airport. The processing unit is further configured to automatically generate a reporting message based on the airport marker at a predetermined location relative to the airport marker. The aircraft system further includes a communications unit coupled to the processing unit and configured to send the reporting message.

Aircraft systems and methods to improve airport traffic management

A system and method are described for receiving a NOTAM and storing information relating to the distance of a temporarily displaced threshold for a runway. When that runway is selected for approach and landing, the temporarily displaced threshold and new aiming point are automatically displayed. The change made to the display using NOTAM data can be indicated to the pilot by distinct symbology or particular color, or by using an icon or an annunciation.

A method is provided for displaying information on a display device of an aircraft. The method comprises determining graphics data for visual aids that represent missed approach data; incorporating the graphics data into a user interface that is in perspective view; and generating the user interface for display on the display device of the aircraft.
